I will be 89 years old in April and still teach and play pool 5 days a week. I don't have the stamina of a youngster in there seventies, but I do okay. I still have a sound stroke and all the fundamentals required and above all the passion to play well and enjoy good competition. Also I have been blessed to be inducted into the New England Billiard Hall of Fame this March. If you want to know whats in my bag, my playing cue , break cue , chalk, prune juice and stool softener. Chandley's Pool room in Statesville NC (https://www.facebook.com/chandleyschalkandcue/?fref=nf) great place to play btw,... would be a happier place if they'd support and recruit for an American Rotation League out of there as well as a BCA league...but as it is 9b mini tournaments (and other piss in pool games) keeps driving pool enthusiast interests away. Looking for games with structure, integrity and fairness... not so much for rewarding bad pool playing. Just saying, Always in search of the happy places in life.

ok.............................

Nice form.

A month or so ago I was in my local pool hall and there were some attractive young women playing on a few tables. They were obviously newbies and I realized that I was spending more time thinking about what was wrong with their fundamentals than I was ogling them.

I'm not sure what that says about me! I think the pool sickness is bad!

Awesome Larry,
Ive had the pleasure to give a few lessons recently and I really enjoyed it especially when you see someone have that aha moment when they figure out how something works. I hope I am doing the same when I'm 89. That's some good stuff. Happy stuff. Thanks.

American Rotation

Randy,
There is has been efforts at starting a BCA type of league but it didn't get support and it was probably a timing thing. I would love to talk to you about what steps could be taken to start American Rotation at Chandleys. I know how much you like it and I can say for sure, especially after the way you showed me a few things in One Pocket that you are very conscientious pool player who wants more than the status quo. If you will be the wheel man with the American Rotation I think we would love to see it get going. Perhaps if we put out a flyer on it in the room that would help. I will do what I can but right now my focus at Chandleys is to help organize events. If one of those events is an American Rotation League that would be fine with me. I will try but right now I don't have the time to play until I close my other business or make better arrangements for it.

Robin your so right, when they let loose the death grip on there cue and let the cue do the work, there is a sound of the ball going into the pocket they have never heard before and a smile appears on there face. It is so satisfying for both teacher and pupil. Also teaching is learning.

Pool my wife and this little guy. Not in that order mind you.

Some of my happiest and best memories were me and my little guy sitting in a chair and watching the tube and just being together. Cherish your time. They grow up fast.

Awesome! What is your name if you don't mind me asking. I am a "regular" at Snookers. I play almost every Wednesday. I have yet to attend a Hall of Fame tourney because they always conflict with APA Regional Singles to go to Vegas.

I'd love to meet you if there is no conflicting dates this year.

Thanks for the heads up!!
