Does anyone ever make a joint with a double lead/start?
Is it not practical as a joint thread?

Screws with twin-start threads often have a larger pitch, which means they can be inserted or removed twice as fast as a screw with a single-start thread.A double lead would not screw together twice as fast. It would just pick up a thread a little sooner and then screw together like a single lead.

Sure, it you change the pitch.

Yes it would be faster. Unless you increased tightening torque. You would have less clamping pressure at the joint face. Not worth the trade off and headaches IMHO.
I have never been in such a hurry to take a cue apart that 5 seconds would matter.

That's the kind of response I was looking for, thank you
But
If I can screw it together in 5 turns I'd be happier than you know
