cheap tip brands

How many do you need? I have some really junky tips that would work for practice.

Buy a box of Super Pro tips. I think a box of 50 is $30 or so.
The tips are actually quite nice :-)
If you wanna try something else buy some Kamikaze or Ultraskin, pretty cheap for decent layered tips.

I agree but I would also include Elk Master tips for practice. They being a soft tip, I have found, that they need a different technique to trim than other tips.
