Hi all,
I recently purchased a basic repair lathe with bed from Midamerica, along with a modified drilling tailstock.
In addition to maintenance on my cues, I am interesting in trying my hand at making pens or other things like pepper mills. I searched the forum and see that others are doing the same, but I'm unable to find a thread or a location that explains exactly what I need to make them...
I've looked around at penstateind.com and I think I need:
+ Mandrel - no idea what kind
+ Pen Press - necessary or would a drill press do the trick
+ A live center that is not convex
+ A tool rest
+ A set of woodturning tools / skew
Any help is much appreciated, realizing this may be off topic...
