What types do you think would work for 15B rotation tournaments. I'm thinking round robin type. What do you think. Johnnyt

None. 10 Ball gets the job done.

I respectfully disagree:)

I think 15b rotation is the way to go,,,, efren style of course!

The only way I think 10-ball should be played(at the pro level) is push after the break regardless of a ball goes or not and winner breaks!

Personally, I think there are a few players out there that can move just as good as the top 5!

But don't misunderstand me, I LOVE watching 2-3-4 break and runs,,,, but to the common folk, that gets boring, almost as bad as 1-pocket! But if you push after the break,,,,, that gets people to pay attention more!

Let's watch a match,,,, SVB is up to break, he breaks, gets a ball in and has position with balls spread,,,,, he's out(99%)

Or,,,,, he breaks, gets a ball in, has a shot, but he has to push:) I would be in suspense on who would MOVE better personally!

But, again only at the pro level,,, amateur, not so much!

Remember when JB played Lou the 1-pocket,,, that was players we could all kinda feel because there not these INSANE great players, it was actually more enjoyable!

The real "average" player gets bored real fast watching a pro play! But when an A player matching up with another A player, there sweating the match longer(a lot longer)

I just put the finishing touches on a pet project I have been working on for a while. Its a Chicago Rotation format tournament. On paper it has a lot of promise... we will have to have a test tourney to try this out in Ct maybe at our meet and greet...

Good luck with it. I hope to hear/see it work out. Thanks for the info. Johnnyt

the reason why it is a popular game here in the Philippines is because it is very suitable for gambling. there's also a lot of options for handicapping. i dont believe it will be a good tournament game though.

If you want to make the game more interesting -- add snookers to it. This way you could score points if your opponent doesn't hit the lowest numbered ball. The snooker would be worth whatever ball you are on. This would also force the players to shoot out the entire rack and make some end of rack safety exchanges quite interesting. Maybe too interesting for spectators but I'm not so sure. This would really create a game where contrasting styles could go at it. Right now with 9 & 10 ball there really aren't any contrasting styles -- everybody plays run out pool. Rotation, even in its simplest form allows for these contrasting styles.
