Look what I found! :)

Well, its been a long time, and a lot of things have changed. I did not end up getting my rails to Mark, I did find someone more local and this side of the border that did a bang up job and everything is now together and playing literally perfect. I can not be any more happy. Dream come true. Once I get the light up I will take better pictures not on my phone sorry if they are grainy.

Chris.

Looks fantastic.....great job!

Beautiful table. Thanks for sharing the pics.

Why not put the plastic skirts back on? Its rare to have them and imo they are what makes the GC1 look complete.

Enjoy.
Ian

I am in the process of cleaning them as well as hanging a light etc so I will repost when those are complete. I started to put them on and thought they would look crummy dirty, I love the look of them as well !!

It has 4.25 corners and 4.5 sides. It plays very tight, I am hoping once it slows down a bit, that it will be even tougher. Its going to be very helpful as I like to play all games as well.

Artemis Rubber, I do not recall the profile, I measured point to point 4.25, and 4.5, but that does not mean I measured correctly

That is a little odd that the sides are about as tight as the corners, usually the side pockets are quite a bit wider. I thought my side pockets were tight because they are about 5"-5 1/4", never actually measured them just put balls in them side by side, and my corners are 4 3/8"

One thing I noticed is that because it is still snooker slate, I can not hang a ball like that, my side/corner pictures the balls are half hanging off the slate and they are wedged to stay up.. not sure if that helps clarify or not?

What's the nose height on your rails? Brian.

Got the light up, 2 2x4 Panels, Troffer style, which are meant for a t-bar drop ceiling. They work incredible, no other lights required down there now lol Here are a bunch of pictures to hopefully answer questions.

Point to note, These are 2 1/4 inch snooker balls. I love the game, even though my highest run so far is 41 on this table, 48 on a 12 footer.

Enjoy!

I just barely got my balls to sit angled like yours in the pic above, if I took a breath the 6 would fall. Also it should be noted that I ASKED for the sides to be that way for toughness, most of the tables I play on have "bucket" sides as well.

Am I missing something? You changed the snooker pockets on your table to pool table specs... and now you're still using snooker balls?

.

It would appear that way! LOL traditionally all of my friends and family play 8/9/10 ball and I have a couple friends that play 1 pocket as well.

The snooker balls are more for me specifically to be able to still play the game with my same playing cue and the same size balls so my stroke stays fairly consistent across the board.

They will likely not see a lot of use other than a rainy day.

Chris, when you measure pocket with a tape like you are showing, that's not a true measure mentioned of the pocket because you're measuring the points of the corner pocket that the balls don't come into contact with as they touch the pocket facings well below those measured points, in which because of the down angle, are in fact wider than the points you measured. For the most part, the pockets depending on the down angle, are any where from 1/16th to 1/8th wider at the ball contact point than the measurement from point to point across the pocket opening. When you place the 2 balls across the mouth of the pocket side by side, that's when you get the true measurement of the pocket openings. If the balls sit half way between the points of the pockets, that's 4 1/2". If one ball is lined up with the points and the second ball sits outside of that center line, you can then take a look at the eclipse of the 2 balls and subtract the eclipse from 4 1/2" to get a better idea of the pocket opening.
