OB Shafts for $149

Sorry for the dumb question but what is the original OB shafts? Does this include OB-2?

Not a dumb question at all. The original shafts were made using 6 pieces of flat laminated maple. The new plus shafts are made using 6 pieces of solid maple. All OB shafts made now since last summer are referred to as plus shafts.

The sale is on the original shafts. The choices are OB-1, OB-2, OB Classic, OB Pro, OB-XL and OB Classic-XL.

Manningcues.com has them available for this price. Great deal and I picked one up to get me out of a jam after a recent cue mishap.

What advantage was it to switch from 6 laminated pieces to 6 solid maple pieces? Well there be a different hit now from the original shaft design?

Glad Heath could help you out, he is great to deal with.

The original shafts were made using 6 pieces of flat laminated maple. The new plus shafts are made using 6 pieces of solid maple.

The maple in the plus shafts is a much higher grade so the shafts look better as they are cleaner looking and have less grain lines, they are smoother so they feel better when you stroke your cue as there are less glue lines and the shafts also play better as we reduced the front end mass by 13% in the new plus shafts when compared to the original shafts.

The plus shafts also have better warranties as they now have a lifetime warranty against warpage which the original shafts do not have.

So in summary, the new shafts look better, feel smoother, play better and have better warranties.
