I'm looking for an r series schon cue with Micarta ferrules, Shafts must be at least 12.5 MM plus and straight, Have money in hand and ready to buy,,,

Thanks Troy

Thanks Troy I did see these but looking for something a bit nicer and in better condition, Those shafts are a little on the thin side, If you ever decide to sell a choice schon r series please let me know, I have no problem shelling out the cash for a nice piece......Looking at a nice r 16 on ebay now but the guy wants like $1,800 for it,

I do not consider the R16 on Ebay to be a real collectable cue. It has round points and silver rings at the joint collars. Also, the shafts are non micarta..

IMHO. the very things that make up a desirable R series cue are sharp points, stitch ring collars, and, nice micarta ferrules.

I have one of the earliest Schons ever made (Pre-R Series). It is 59", 12.5 mm shafts, implex joint, weight 20.5 oz. It has the yellow micarta ferrules. I'm the original owner. It was refinished by Andy Gilbert in 2014.

I purchased it at Romine's High Pockets in Milwaukee, WI, in 1980. Terry Romine was Bob Runde's original partner for Schon cues and was selling some of the first out of his pool room. He was getting his butt kicked in a gambling match and got tapped out. To raise money quick, he opened up the cue display case and said he was taking all offers on any of the cues in the case. I made him an offer for this cue, and he took it. It was my main player for several years.

If you're interested, make me a reasonable offer.
