Revo Shaft sold separately

Does anyone in the business have some insight as to when the Predator REVO shaft will be sold separately? I can't justify spending a grand on an ugly cue just to get the shaft. However, I do have a Uni-Loc butt already so all I need is the shaft. It's been a while since it's release and no news yet.

Not until every last penny can and has been milked from proprietary exclusivity. I think they will even go so far as to just never offer the shaft in any other pin. It makes more sense to just force a relationship at gun-point than build familiarity and respect. True love is not profitable and takes too long. Better to have a girl in a pit.

While waiting, you could always jump on board with these guys....

They are running carbon fiber shaft at a more realistic ferrule size and the cue looks better too.
Their basic pledge for the complete cue is less than what predator would sell just their Revo shaft for (rumored $600-$700).

I believe competition is healthy for any industry.
If these guys take off, watch how predator has to start rethinking the one size fits all Revo model they developed.

While they may be a promising up and coming company, I simply cannot put my trust in any unknown product based on the state of pool right now.

I talked with Predator quite a bit before purchasing my P3 Revo and I am very satisfied with it.

I am curious, for what reasons do you think Predator wouldn't offer this in any other pin? I have an idea why and it is simple. But what is your thought? And how would this be a gunpoint relationship between them and their users?

Yes, if those guys take off I believe that Predator will have to react quick as Becue competes with WAY better price atm and it has much more elegant design (white shaft looks really better than black one I think:D). Only time will tell if the billiard market is ready for carbon shafts/cues..

If you aren't impressed with the product, you can simply flip the cue for what you pledge and buy a Revo in 2018 with the same money.

There's a lot of upside to what these guys are doing. Carbon fiber may be a fad or it may be here to stay. As a pool enthusiast, my curiosity is peaked.

After a long chat with one of the two designers at BeCue, I decided to give them a go. I always liked an underdog. And in my opinion, their engineering is more open and honest than predator.

Like I said, for their kickstarter prices, you can always resell or you'll have one really impervious new break cue.

Give them a call, email, or text. You'll be impressed.

Absolutely true.
Competition is always needed.
Carbon shafts will be around for breaking at least. I'm hearing that some predator pros that got the Revo are using it as a break shaft regularly then switching to wood to play.

Hopefully Becue will be more than break cue

Hi Kid. How have you been?

Can you cut to the chase & tell me what the lowest price for a shaft is?

All the Best for You & Yours,
Rick

PS Graphite cues have been around for quite some time. I kept one in my car for quite a few years.

Well, many companies protect their brand with proprietary manufacturing. Ever wonder why we need 47 billion different kinds of power cords? Same thing here.... forces people to buy their product if they want feature "X". Predator is becoming the Apple of Cues. Smart and ruthless.

click-bang, what a hang.

At the last expo they were saying no plans for individual release in 2016. My guess is it will be released at the 2017 SBE. I'm surprised they are waiting until after xmas as a release now would probably sell them some extra units.

Since the LE pred/samsara cue w/ revo shaft costs $150 retail more than the same LE pred/samsara cue with vantage shaft, it seems like the Revo shaft will cost $150 more than a vantage shaft, so a uniloc revo should be about $495 retail, $445.50 online price. A non-uniloc should be $475 retail, $427.50 online price.

Rick! Welcome back!

In a nut shell...the latest is carbon fiber or carbon composite, unlike graphite, its structurally more resilient, durable and apparently delivers a better hit with minimal deflection if made correctly.

Predator was the first out of the gate, and in doing so created an apparently well received shaft with the Revo however limiting the public to only being able to buy one as part of a thousand dollar cue option (not available for sale on its own) and only available in a one size fits all option (12.8 mm).

As of late predator has released a less expensive Revo cue although garish looking (my opinion of course) it is their way of saying, you want the shaft on its own, then here it is for $900.

Now comes BeCue with a carbon composite shaft at 11.8mm. In the links I posted above you can read up on their designs.
Currently, the are offering the entire cue for $549 as part of their naked cue early bird special...

You have been spot on in your posts here.
I've made my disagreements with predator known in past threads...
But the Revo rollout was money first player second business plan all the way.
I had a 30 minute conversation with predator regarding this so it is not like I'm shooting from the hip.

Basically, if they have the capability to make 4 different size and weight variations for Darren Appleton to try (of which he is still not completely adapted to) and then turn to the public with a one size 12.8mm (can't be modified like wood) one weight and claim it is the best for lowest deflection...it is disingenuous.

If Darren can't pick up the public Revo from Seyberts and shoot his top game, then why would I even think I could?

The predator rep didn't have an answer but to say you have to try it and get used to it.

First, making the claim that if Darren can't play his top game with the retail Revo than why should you want it seems ridiculous. Shafts are pretty subjective and someone else could make the claim that a certain top pro is playing their best game with it so you should be able to. None of that makes sense imo.

Second, I still dont understand why you think Predator HAS to offer a different size revo. Does Chevy HAVE to offer a V6 corvette?
