Team USA Still in the Lead

You got it right Sir!

Its the same story every year.
americans are the better money players, shane would beat them all, bergman would rob them all... longer sets no chance for europe...
appleton was playing for money in the phillipines, feijen did, nearly all other euros play for money too.
so dont think they are only good in playing tournaments...

the problem of the americans is that there is no chemistry in the team, dechaine, bergman and van boening are all no team players, all of them are beasts on there own and fantastic players, but not in a team...
no chemistry means bad emotions, every loss or roll of europe leads in more bad chemistry, usa looked like loosers from the first match they lost, they play just really bad, it seems that nobody is ready to really take this fight for every single ball.

if i where american i would hate to see my team loosing like that year for year, but i would never complain with those childish arguments, like longer sets, play for money... wtf, nobody cares for that, it counts what you show in mosconi cup, when mosconi cup is played, nothing else.

if some euro would play shane in a long set for money, and loose it, i would say, well played shane, in money matches he is one of the best.
i would never start complaining like, but in tournaments the euro is better blabla, nobody cares!!!

maybe a wonder will happen and the americans start to fight and play pool like they are able to, so we all would have a match and something to sweat about, nobody wants to see loosing the USA like this, and i say that as an europe!!

We just need a fresh look; Billy Thorpe, Josh Roberts, Sky, Bergman SVB and let Rodney Morris coach. Now that's a party mix, they'll have fun, but get the job done.

Sky and Billy are close in age, Josh and Justin are close in age and they all want to be like Shane so the respect factor is there and they all like Rodney and respect his play. lets get off this points thing and let the fans vote the players in and win!

I was disappointed in Bergman's comments on FB yesterday after the match.

He said "Mark looked like he had just won the Olympics after winning a race to 5. LOL. I wish I could gamble with him all day every day playing all games for the rest of my life." .

LOL

What a sore loser. He has my sympathy though, all I remember of him in that match is trying to escape from snookers. Gray toyed him tactically.

Just as a reminder...,

I disagree. The game has been changed so yeah, it is the game. If they're so proficient then how come the rest of the worlds players outside the US whined until the formats were changed?

The game thrived here for a VERY long time with no need for the format changes, well unless you can't keep up, which they couldn't in the winner break format with the 1 on the spot, hence the whining and the change. If you think it doesn't make a difference then look at how well the Ko's & Euros do in winner break formats, not so well.

The alternate break makes the game fairer for the player. It gives a guy a chance at his Money. Nobody wants to travel half way around the world to sit and watch a guy run 9 racks, so alternate break keeps things balanced.

Fairer huh? Millennial speak. Please note for me any player that traveled half way around the world & got eliminated from a tournament without shooting. Also most tournaments are double elimination. Fair? Balanced? Perhaps you should take up a more gentile sport like badminton.

Be honest here. Gray got rolls on top of playing well.

Not referring to the invented Circus of Mosconi Cup. Referring to the game itself. This Cup is nothing more than a promotion, it has little to do with the game.

The game was the same until the Sardo, and Corey Deuel. He figured out the soft break. To the point that sets we're being won 11-0. He whitewashed Mika at the US Open, and got whitewashed by Mika later on in the same tourney. Darryl Peach won the World 9 ball with the soft break. After that year, the new "break rules" started happening.

The Euros didn't wreck your precious game. It wasn't the Asians either. The reason for all of these changes was Corey.

You're welcome for the history lesson.

I wouldn't give 2 cents for someone who lost and laughed about it.

Agreed but there's nothing wrong accepting defeat with grace. This time Gray played better than him and won, why try belittle the guy? Bad loser he is.

This is really the perfect thread for us here in the US. Magical thinking and narcissism got us where we are, it might as well be what comforts us in our downfall.

Ah, yes the soft break aka "bird break." It was interesting watching English professional player Daryl Peach win his world championship title in 2007 against Roberto Gomez in Philippines using that bird break. It was the talk of the tournament!

What are you even talking about? This has already been mentioned.

I'm all for that team if you drop SVB and insert Danny Smith. I will take positive energy over negative energy any day. SVB exudes to much negative energy

I'm not saying that the discovery of what you can do with a perfect rack didn't instigate it with the arrival of the Sardo rack. But it wasn't the Sardo rack or Corey whining for the format change. It was the Euros, the loudest being Mika & that is the history.

Thankfully the US Open & Mike Zuglans events still recognize traditional formats, as it should be. You're entitled to your opinion as I am mine.

I don't think throwing shade at Shane is fair, though. Everyone is entitled to have a bad tournament. I still think Shane has a little lightning left in his jug. :D

Everyone used that "bird break" that year.

And...again...who came up with the soft break? Oh yeah...an American.

Corey Deuel's only contribution to the game. And people are still buying the fairy tales that he's "reading" the racks. lol

And who was it that created that clown game Bonus Ball? Hmm . . .

Keep deflecting. It's you and bankrupt that are mentioning how your precious game of 9 ball has been ruined by the world. Nope. They've adapted and thrived. You've trashed the game all on your own.

I accepted your apology once for trolling me on this forum. Won't happen again. :)
