Out of curiosity, how difficult is it to become a Canadian citizen opposed to, say, becoming a US citizen?
Super easy. You have to like maple syrup, apologize a lot, and drink 3 Canadian beers, and walk a straight line one hour later.

C'mon , are ya gonna keep this up n remain delutional ?
Your post clearly shows ur ignorance n lack of knowledge on how the game has evolved .
Open ur eyes , american players r considered bench-warmer in current standard of pool today with the only exception being Svb and his acheivement is still shy in comparison with all the taiwanese or european players who are younger n yet won multiple world championships.
When the americans dominate europeans in the early years , they were respected n nobody called them ' one trick ponies ' , off a sudden sudden tide has reverse and you start finding excuses for em, big buckets , crowd , equipment.
Leme ask you , were you complaining when earl was sharking everyone he played n got away with it ? He clearly displayed a lack of class n etiquette , why didnt u mention it ?
Were all the americams who won the early years of mosconi against a bunch of snooker players considered 1 trick ponies since tide has been changed ?

I can't tell if you're joking.
Team USA has won the Mosconi Cup 11 times, Team Europe 10 times, and there was one tie. I think the Cup is supposed to be a fun us-versus-them kind of competition. To read more about Mosconi Cup history, check out Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mosconi_Cup
Shirt fouls, short races to 5, Europeans screaming at the top of their lungs every time an American is aiming for a shot, it's not hard to figure out what's happening here. Let those European tournament soldiers step up to the plate in an action match, one on one, for real money at the Derby and see who's the best in the land. My money is on the Americans, who play all games of pocket billiards. Americans are not one-trick ponies. There, I said it!
Tie goes to the winner, so they say. Even after this year's Cup, USA is still in the lead *and* the overall winner.![]()
Whats missing from the USA when the match ends is the WINNING part.
Jason
Yes. I'm joking. Canada isn't the "swinging door" that our brethren to the south think it is. It's probably tougher to become a Canadian, than an American. One plus, though. We allow you to keep dual citizenship.
I actually think Canada vs America is a much closer matchup than Europe vs America.
The original post in this thread is like Princeton bragging about having the most national championships in football while declining to point out that the last one was in 1950.
Don't get me wrong Jen. I have nothing but respect for the players on Team USA. If I had any talent that any of those Players have in their little fingers, I would be happy.
Obviously something is missing from the formula of putting out a winning team.
As a Canadian, we don't have many players to field from. Alex would be an excellent pick for one.
I don't think it is the Coaching. Mark doesn't have much to teach any of those guys. Younger College players for sure. They all have their own styles so Mark can't change how they play.
A Coach that has a Unifying effect on them. Who would that be other than Mark.
Maybe I don't understand the short races thing. What difference does it make. They are playing on the same table, same arena.
Short races, long races, they are still getting beat at their game.
Likely suggesting that the USA Players are used to playing a race to 10, so they need the extra games to make a come back.
That shouldn't really be much of a valid excuse. They should hit the table and start winning from the start, just like Team Europe does.
If short races is all the problem is, then during the training sessions, Mark should have
all of them playing a race to 5 while practicing.
Sounds easy, right, but likely isn't the biggest or only problem they have.
Europe has very strong players. Individually, in a contest like this, they seem to still dominate.
Maybe they come together as a Team better. Team Playing. No I's in Team, right. Maybe we have too many Big Egos to play well together.
They all do well as individual Tournament players, but just don't play well together or care enuff.
I would like to see Team USA win once in a while. This is getting to be a bad habit.
And really, not much fun to watch if you already have a good idea on who is going to win, before the first rack is broken.
Still good Pool, just that when one knows the outcome, not much to look forward too, other than a possible upset at some point.
I have heard the word, "Luck" used, when it comes to Europe. They are just "Lucky". They have been getting all the Rolls.
Well, then they are getting all the Rolls, year after year then. Luck has Zero to do with it.
