I understand there is a lot of controversy about pool ever becoming an Olympic Sport. With the Mosconi Cup every year I always have the same thought patterns no matter who wins it. I wonder why there cannot or is not a tournament structured around individual countries. The Mosconi Cup always gives me the feeling of the USA verses many different countries. I have seen where people talk about populations somehow making it more fair that way. I do not see how a countries population really should matter after all there ore only a few people on a representing team. To only have a competition limited to USA and Europe literally eliminates any players from places like China, Japan, (Probably the Philippines even though were once a US possession). I am sure there are people all over the world that play pool. I am also sure there are many different games (8-Ball, 9-Ball, 10-Ball, 1-Pocket, 14.1, Rotation, Scotch Doubles, ETC...) that are regularly played on pool tables. If the Olympic Committee does not recognize Pool as a sport then why can't a structure be made to bring pool into a Nation based competition. Where players play only representing the country their passports are issued from?

There already is a structure. It is called the World Games https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Games
Held every 4 years for games not in Olympics
If ever pool is included in Olympics it will follow structure of World Games (WG)
Past winners of 9 ball in WG include Ralf, Darren,Yang

Something close

The Word Cup of Pool is a 2 man 1 team per country scotch double event, everybody plays in it.
