Why do you care?
Because I want to hear what the academic reviewers had to say about Stan's "work."
I am waiting to be wowed.

But I'll leave the make-up to you
Except you're not. So why do you care?

hopes his life isn't as meaningless when he retires
#dididothisright
Oh, I am waiting with bait on my breath to hear what the likes of MIT, Stanford, and Berkeley had to say about Stan's "work."
And of course you're right about the retirement thing...
...except Gail and I just got back from spending a few days in Manhattan. Stayed at the Marquis on Times Square. Saw four Broadway shows (don't you just love Sutton Foster). Ate at some great restaurants. Did some sightseeing and holiday shopping...
...so, how was your week?
Lou Figueroa
retirement ain't so bad
In addition to things I've posted here about the CTE Bashers being stubborn and closed minded, I think they just like to argue on websites. But why do you care?
Will you be left unfulfilled if you never know?
Specifically in regards to CTE?
We've gone from it can't work to it can't work as advertised. How it's advertised is as an objective aiming system with zero feel or subconscious involvement.
So the non-users consider that false advertisement, or a marketing ploy? But why do they care? Are they going after McDonald's when their Big Mac didn't turn them into an Olympic athlete?
So why do they care? It's not as if they are ever going to use the system.
And what if they're right? What if it's proven that CTE is not 100% objective and it does involve feel. Does Stan change how the system is advertised? Probably. Do the non-users start using CTE? Doubtful. Do the users stop using CTE? Nope.
The simple answer is people like to argue. If there wasn't in arguing in the aiming section, all threads would die within the first page or two. There is basically no activity here unless it is an argument. It is rare for a new aiming system to be introduced so what else is there to talk about? It isn't that complicated. You can't keep reinventing the wheel.
Personally I cared for awhile because I bought the DVD. If you spend $45 on something, you kind of want their claims to be true. Is that fair to say? The DVD is called the final chapter. Was I wrong in believing that would be the end? Now a book is coming out. So is the DVD the final chapter or not? CTE is supposed to be easy but now there is almost a 40 chapter book coming out after two dvd's were released?
I am done with systems for a number of reasons. I just come here for entertainment value.
But why do you care?
Will you be left unfulfilled if you never know?
Are we really "talking" about pool or are we just bashing and trolling people on a forum? It's a discussion board.
On this discussion board we talk about pool.
This is about pool.
Get over it.
Lou Figueroa
can't wait to hear
what Cal Tech had to say
Glad you had a nice vacation…..
No jab thrown..his vacation sounded awesome..having a hotel on Time Square is pretty amazing. It is jabs like this that keep the arguments going.
On an unrelated note, this forum is full of very intelligent people. Calling people stupid and/or saying they are not smart enough to understand something will keep the wheel of insults turning until the end of time. They know they aren't stupid, so get pissed and react when someone says those things.
Things just don't stay civil here. That is why Aiming got moved. So people could fight and argue about something which isn't viewed as important by most players.

You're confusing discussing with trolling.
Need I explain which side of the coin you're on?
First off, anyone here who has followed the CTE discussion -- for 20 minutes or 20 years -- would be interested in hearing what happened when Stan submitted "his work," which he is always referring to here, to academic review. I'm guessing at this point, given his silence, that the response he got was underwhelming. Shoot, it'd even be interesting to hear what the local community college or tech school had to say.
As to the other, I promise to let you know if I ever have even the tiniest, teeniest interest in your definition of anything.

I would not
hold my breath
For your info:
I contacted Donald Hoffman of CA. We had great conversations by phone and email and one his concepts for my work with CTE will appear in my book.
He referred me to a world class visual team at Vanderbilt. There was definite interest there and our conversations are still open. Studies at universities such as CTE would require involve significant time and money.
Don't ever allow yourself to think that my work will not be studied at higher levels.
Stan Shuffett
ah, OK.
There was phone call to Donald Hoffman, presumably the guy who wrote the article in "The Atlantic" entitled, "The Case Against Reality." Perfect, lol. And then he passed the buck to the lads at Vanderbilt. Got it. Thanks for the chuckle.
