Looks like John Schmidt tired last yr and took a beating. How about Danny Smith or the self proclaimed greatest one pocket player in the world Scott Frost?

Big difference in a race-to-3 and long action sets. Justin Hall, Josh Roberts, Alex and yes Scott F. would all most likely tee it up for the cash.

John admitted he got outplayed, so one cannot discredit the Thorpe.

I believe John hasn't played his best pool since that fateful night: 10.1.2006.

But Billy is ridin the wave, ya know...

JS was getting 10-8/9-8 the last time he played Billy.

Your right!

He's playing good, but he can get played anything any day. The people you mentioned plus Justin Burg, SVB, Tony C, etc, etc, etc...,

Justin Bergman less than a year ago gave Billy 9/7 in a race to 10 for 10K & Justin won 10-3 i believe. 9/ 7 may no longer be their game but he isnt playing Bergman even.

So, how did Bergman do in the DCC One Pocket?

Good question, Justin...
...when a player is Billy Thorpe's age...every month he's a different player.

Asking because ya just wanna know how how he did in the tourney is one thing and fine but if you're asking trying to get a line in the match up and youll get all f'd up. Sure if you do good in a strong tournament it's a good thing no doubt. But when u start bringing into the conversation matching up for some real cheez with longer races; totally different ballgame - different BALL PARK IN a different city for that matter lol.

there is NO line to play him "by the rail" bank and probably a line of one for other bump variants

Lol, I was actually just changing the subject, and very curious how Bergman did in the One Pocket. I do not know how to find the brackets for the DCC.

I do understand that tournament play and action match ups are 2 totally different things.

He placed 17th.

He went out around the 8th or 9th round to his buddy Justin Hall. Bergman has actually said he doesnt like 1P, it's hard to imagine how good he would be at it if he liked it & played it more often.

Thanks for the info. I really regret not going to the DCC on Wednesday, and maybe have had a chance to see Bergman play. I always loved his game, and his unique style of playing. I did not see him around on Saturday, when I was there, for the last day of the 9 ball. I remember Bergman winning a big 1 pocket tournament some years ago, and beating Bustamante in the finals (I think). The match was on youtube, but it disappeared awhile back. Anyways, I remember hearing that at that time, Bergman had not even been playing 1 pocket for that long (maybe like 6 months). Anyways, I imagine that Bergman would play Thorpe in a 1 pocket money game. He is fearless, it seems.

He was also spotted big and after said Billy put on the best display of banking he ever saw and I'm pretty sure he's seen some pretty good bankers

I doubt there is a long line to play him even in short sets ,
