Judd Fuller price check

I was the second owner of this cue. A gentleman in England designed it. I made a trade to get this cue. That cue sold new for 2,750.00. A friend of mine bought it from me. HOWEVER MY FRIEND BROKE THIS CUE diagonally just above the forearm. It was discussed about how it broke here on AZB but I can't find that post. Greg Sowder put it back together and did a hella of a job repairing it. As a broken cue that was repaired its hard to tell what it is worth.

Thanks for the info. Do you have pictures of the break, as I could not see any signs of it, which I guess is hard to see in ebony.

I spoke with Bob and I don't doubt his story. I won't be posting this for sale as I don't sell repaired or broken items. I'm sure Greg Sowder's repair is solid as I couldn't see any issues and I'm sure it is still a great player, but the value is considerably diminished due to the repair. I'll leave this up with pics to make sure it doesn't get passed off as a cue without repair history.

I don't recall for how long or when but Efren was playing with his cues for a bit, perhaps someone who knows more than I can confirm the time period.

Judd was my first custom cue because we had a common friend, Alex L.
Efren started using a Judd JT1 the year after his contract with Meucci expired.
That was in 1997. He still had his $20 Filipino cue then.
In 1999, he won the World 9-Ball. He used both sticks in the finals. Broke with the JT1 and used it some.
Efren later got an ivory pointed and inlayed Judd.

I was told that was sold in the Middle East when he went there.
I believe the was second to the last Judd he had. I know he had another JT1 after that one.
He signed with Mezz and quit using Judd's cues.

I've had a few Judds. I regret selling all of them. Biggest regret was selling a sneaky pete that had a beautiful rosewood. It was a cut down house cue I saw at Judd's shop in Riverside back in the days when he was here. Would not sell it to me but finally did when we met up in Vegas watching the PBT World 8-Ball which Bustamante won.
Judd gambled some at the Riviera and needed gas money to go back to Colorado. lol
He told me he'd make me a sneaky out of that Dufferin. He even used clear coat on it .
But, I sold it when I went back to school. Dope!
RIP Judd.

The best thing about Judd's cues, next to his customer service, (imo) were his shaft tapers.

When I bought my first JT1(2007), I told him I only wanted a 59". He said he had one that was a custom order, and had 2 shafts with a taper made for a Pinoy player, but he backed out at the last minute. It was all he had at the time, and I didn't want to wait, so I jumped on it. My player for a good 7 years.

Fast forward 5 years, I pull it out of my case, and lay it on the table. I noticed something was a little weird, and rolled it across the table, and it wobbled bad between the handle and butt sleeve. Almost like a bad connection. Everything looked fine on the finish.
The handle was cocobolo, and it had a nice big knot in it toward the rear, really nice. Judd says the wood may have moved from the knot, or it could be loose connection. "Send it too me". He takes a look at it, and calls me, and say's " the knot decided it wanted to move"...lol. "Wood will do that". He says "give me a couple months, and I'll put a new handle on it for you.
Maybe 2-3 months later he calls and says it's on it's way. I said " what do I owe you",
he says "you owe me nothing. It was my fault for using that handle in the first place. I'm surprised it lasted 5 years."

One of the best playing cues I've ever played with. I pull it out whenever I get into a little funk, and just love that cue.
His taper was real close to the SPX from Gulyassy, nice and whippy. I also bought a fancy butterfly sneaky of his later. You cannot go wrong with a Judd cue.

Judd and Trudy were two of the best.

Hey Joey, I miss being around the Southern California scene quite a bit and am glad we had the chance to meet the people we did. Lot's of great cuemakers down there and unfortunately some of them and some players have passed, glad to see you're still around the game and making cues these days also right?
