What Earl thinks of Shane

I was watching the World Cup of Pool from 2014 with SVB and Earl as partners. I have heard numerous times that Shane has a lot of respect for Earl and loves him as a player and person. I was just curious if anybody has first hand information on what Earl thinks of Shane and his game. We all know SVB is the best, but I have never heard Earl say many positive things about other players.

Any input would be great.

I have on a tar your tube video. He had nothing but good things to say about him .

I remember something from their TAR match where Earl pointed his cue at Shane and said something like "you were born to play this game". Can you imagine Earl telling you that?

I heard Jayson and Earl were roommates when Jayson was living in NYC. They used to practice alot at Steinway.

Off the table, Earl is one of the nicest people I ever met and never heard him spoke badly about anyone. When he is in his competitive mood, he can be curt because he's trying to stay focus and has no tolerance for errors (especially himself).

I would bet he loves his style of play- he shoots just as fast as Earl. However, they've had a few run ins.

I believe he said Shane is one of the greatest shot makers after him in an interview

Whenever Shane comes to Steinway he often stands next to Earl and they engage in conversation.
It's one of those rare times when I notice that both of them are smiling and laughing.
It's obvious that they have a deep mutual respect for each other.
Their rotation games have a similarity in the way they move the cue-ball.
Of course, their personalities are quite different.
As they say, "opposites attract".

I do not know, but I would assume they do not like each other, after watching this video (awhile back).

Maybe they are good friends, and get along just fine off of the table, but things just change a lot when Earl is in competition.

By the way, I would love to meet and be able to talk with Earl someday.

Sometimes they get along.......

I think Earl sees Shane as his inheritor

1. True
2. Yes
3. Yep, he's a hoot
4. absolutely freaking true, without a doubt. There are baseball players like that too, I know, I use to be one ;) Not proud of it, don't know why, just the way it worked out for me.

This is their interview the following day after Shane runs that 8 pack against him. Earl praises Shane' s abilities on the table.

Maybe this

Maybe Earl is thinking, "is that kid going to win 6 U.S. Open 9 Ball's"?

I only got 5 of them.

I think Earl is worried whether he will win another U.S Open 9-ball title. If wearing ankle weights, pole vault length cues and taking challenges on no side pocket tables will keep him earning money, then he will continue do what it takes.

I wouldn't be surprise if Earl took Mandarin lessons if that helps him earn money in Asia. *picture Earl giving Chinese New Year greetings for Chinese pool sponsors*
