Tip preservation

I have a bag of LePro tips in my shop I've had for over 20 years. Not sealed, just a little plastic bag they came in. I think I originally bought 24 of them and have maybe 5 left. I never get asked to install them as everyone likes layered tips anymore for the most part, but I use them on my personal cue all the time, have one on it right now and love it. I can't see where they have deteriorated at all. On my spare shaft I have a Triangle if I want a little harder feel, but rarely use it.
I keep my tips in a tipidor. Leather, like wood, is happiest with some humidity when any long term storage is involved.
What is your target humidity?

What about something like Le Pro? They seem to have a thick coating on them. Some tips do, most don't I think.
I have some since the late 80's, bought a box of 50 back then. I still use them, they seem fine, actually I am quite happy I have them.
Do you think the coating has anything to do with preservation?

I currently have boxes of 15mm Elkmasters, Lepro's and Triangle' in a vacuum sealed bag (via foodsaver)...guess that's a bad idea, since they can't "breathe"?

It very well may have but I would only be guessing.
I'm not going to say it's a bad idea but for me personally speaking about tips that I would store, I wouldn't seal them in a bag.
But then again I'm one who believes 40-45% for 99% of everything cue building is happiest in this environment.
But I also live in the desert where the relative humidity constantly hovers between single digits and 20% most of the year so my situation may be different than yours.
