On the last day of the expo this year I placed an order for a JB case with John directly. I was given a very good price and paid in full at the expo. Was given a timeframe and the case arrived in that time frame. I didnt design anything too extravagant.
I prefer butterfly cases and was using a Pred 3x4 which did the job but wasnt too comfortable. I really like the backpack straps idea especially for going to tournaments and the expo and stuff like that. After a long day at the expo, a single strap starts to get a bit uncomfortable and then you just wake up the next morning (provided you even went to bed at all just to sling it over your should again. Rinse and repeat for 4 days. I dont like carrying anymore cues then what I need so I went with a 2x4 and I like a pretty plain and black case so I chose all black everything.
John sketched it out, I paid and went home. Maintained a good line of communication via email and was given updates as requested. All emails were answered within a days time. I am not familiar with the online order system John uses, but ordering it right from him at the expo was a cake walk.
The fit and finish on the case is great. One thing I liked is how snug the main compartment zips up around the cues. They cannot budge at all and even if they could the padding is very thick. The pockets are great. I love how the middle pocket unzips all the way to the bottom so it can fold completely open. The magnetic pocket at the very top is really convenient for chalk and Joint caps. When wearing the case, it's very, very light thanks to the weight distribution over the backpack straps. The straps and lightly padded and comfortable as well.
Thanks to John and his crew at JB Cases. It's exactly what I wanted.
