Mix Bulls-eye shellac and mineral spirits at a 1 to 1 ratio. It will give your shafts a nice light tint while sealing and protecting. Problem solved. I do it all the time.

Clean, yes. Just not bright white.

The only issue with any color of sealant,
is the plastic coat hanger feel it has when playing.
If your hand has any moisture it's like trying to shoot with syran wrap...

Tea is a pseudo tannin.

It can be orange with green spots if it feels right.
