How are the Gold Crown 5s?

IMHO these tables are striking in their looks. I have only played on one once and seemed to play fine. The 5’s are pricy when new, nearly twice what a Diamond will cost you.

anyone own one? how does it compare to the gold crown 4?

I'd rather have a GC V any day if only for the build quality. The pool room I frequent has twelve tournament edition V's. One or two may be for sale. Please contact me here and I'll put you in contact either with the room owner or some photos.

That would put a 9 footer at around 14 grand installed.

Is that right? I knew they were pricey but wow, didn't realize they were that much?

I think that is about what my buddy paid, including furniture and accessories package.

He lives in what is likely a 2m $ home and did not discuss the purchase with me first.

His game room is so big, that 9' table looms like a child's play thing in it.

Gcv

MSRP on the gold crown tournament edition is a little over $15k not including shipping and installation..... although the tables often are sold new from bigbox stores for around 11k-12k all the time.

I've never purchased a new GC. I do, however, remember reading in these forums that when buying one from a dealer, one should never pay the M.S.R.P. The dealer expects to be talked down substantially...at least that's what I read.

Hey Walter -
All things being equal, would you choose a GC V or a Diamond?

Rumor is that the Gold Crown VI is about to debut. Or was that just a rumor started by folks? I've seen, heard, read nothing about a GCVI yet so who knows.

Wait a minute. If you neither seen, heard, nor read about it, what kind of sensory witchcraft allowed your awareness of said rumor?

OUT WITH IT, OR IT IS THE FIRE PIT FOR YOU!!!

Thanks, man!
I'm thinking GC for me when the time comes too.

I'm sorry but I just don't understand. With more and more Pool Halls and Bars going to Diamond tables why would you even consider buying anything but a Diamond table to practice on at home?

Because not all have Diamonds and it's personal preference.
FWIW, the pool hall I play out of has about 20 GC's and 0 Diamonds.

About 2-3 weeks ago I read on here where RKC (RealKingCobra) was talking about the Gold Crown VI. I told him I had searched for one and couldn't find it. He said its out there, I need to search harder.

Unless he was just spinning things up, or twisting things around (like a lot on AZB do), I got the impression the GCVI wasn't too far down the road. Again, I could be wrong.

I have a slightly used Gold Crown 4 in my Rec room. I wouldn't trade it even up on a brand new Diamond even if someone wanted too.

I love my Gold Crown and feel very fortunate to own it.

Here’s a real spinner.......

I heard the winner of that design contest was the Metro and it was supposed to be the VI and when they debuted the tables at a tournament they had bad design problems.
Brunswick changed there minds and off loaded them in Asia.
