So, if you happen to use the Willard tip machine, you will know that the only thing it doesn't have is an actual tip shaping attachment. Problem solved, just take the last 4 ever tip tool and hold it firmly as shown. Works like a charm. This is the closest to being handy that I've ever come, lol.

Tipper

Did Willard offer a knurled tool for the tipper to shape tips..?

Cuefits offers a really sweet tipper with a awesome tip shaper blade. <~ I'll get a pic of mine.

Willard doesnt offer a shaper that I know of. I'd like to see the pic of what you are using. Thanks.

Pocket tipper lathe

Sorry for the delay... I’ve been busy as woodpecker pecking on a pine’
Here the cutter on our pocket tipper lathe I often use when in a pinch and can’t make it to a machine lathe.

Thanks. I will try this next time I change out my tip. About how long did it take for you to fully shape your tip, and what hardness tip do you use?

Thanks again for the info.

I start shaping free handed as per the usual, and use the method I show for the final shaping once enough tip material has been removed. I had been having trouble getting a truly even shape free handed, and using the tool along with the Willard allows for a nice finished shape. Starting with an unshaped newly installed tip takes maybe 10/15 minutes maybe. I've done several medium ultraskins and s.i.b.'s this way.

Should have noted the first post that if you only use the Willard and the tool it will take a long time.

Tipper

I went to the Cuefits website, and there is nothing about this retip-by-hand machine :(

Hey’ someone has been paying attention.
The tipper was on there awhile back then sold-out and we have not restocked due to all the projects in the works. Perry has the how to/instruction video we shot years ago, I think he had it on FB or yahoo but I believe it’s been taken down...
Maybe it’s something we’ll get back in the web store going forward.

Thank you for visiting the website.
