The diagram shows a classic half ball hit.
Learn to recognize and embrace the half ball hit. The only shot in pool besides straight in with a definitive aiming point. They show up all over the table all the time. Work on it and you will see them clearly when they appear.

As far as condescending goes, not even close. But, it's almost a guarantee that any time an aiming system is even mentioned, you and others will be right there to scoff.

You’re crazy. You must have me confused for someone else. I don’t use aiming systems but I don’t knock them either. Please quote some of my hundreds of other posts in which I’m against aiming systems. And you’re posts are definitely condescending.
Your cheap shot is stating that an aiming system would be the least efficient way. That shows you know very little about aiming systems, but feel qualified to make a blanket statement against them.
I know for a fact that I can explain one system to a shooter and have him shoot it successfully in less than 30 sec. because I have done it. So don't give me this crap about least efficient.

No idea about his fundamentals. Neither do you. No rant against aiming systems either. They can be useful. I prefer to give my own advice though based on my own experience of similar situations and difficulties.
You’ll understand why you’re wrong if you ever reach Neil’s level of experience and education. He can fix peoples problems in 30 seconds.
After reading your post I read you disclaimer. If you really believe hat you typed your disclaimer must be true lol.
It may just be how that picture looks on my phone but according to the tangent line its a possibility you can scratch in the bottom right corner. I definitely would not take your advice on that shot. It really is not a hard shot though.

Anyway, here's another side pocket shot that I have been struggling with. One that I've practiced 10,000 times. Perhaps the fact that my side pockets are no more than 4 3/4 inches wide - at the most - could account for part of the problem. Its my understanding that's pretty tight for side pockets.

I honestly don’t know how to help you if you’ve practiced that shot 10,000 times and still struggle with it.
Ok, perhaps 10,000 times is an exaggeration. But over the years I would say easily 1,000 times. I get in grooves where I can make it all the time and then will go through valleys where I miss it most of the time.
