How much more accurate are the REVO shafts?

You're a special one. ;)
I don't even try.

Obvious shill is obvious. I sure hope they gave him more than just the shaft.

Straightpool, your reply about shilling show just how ignorant and bigoted you are.

Thanks for the review, but I must have missed something. I only know about the 12.9 and the 12.4 so what is the special one?
It is a prototype REVO shaft and a custom butt made for one of the VIP's in pool and I purchased it second-hand. I won't discuss the properties of the shaft but if you are ever around me, feel free to ask to hit a few balls with it if you are so inclined. I had a good night of practice. Bobby Emmons played with it for a while last night and I got a chance to see what the cue can do with an elite stroke. That man has a major stroke. He made some incredible shots, not just the one I posted on FB but one other shot that defies imagination and was virtually impossible to duplicate by other professionals. I'm sorry I didn't record that shot. It was one for posterity. Who knows, maybe he will stay around a while longer and share that marvelous stroke again. "In all fairness, while he is impressed with the cue's capabilities, he said that he would most likely not utilize such a cue, because of it's amazing properties which he didn't need (because he already possesses a powerful stroke). I suppose for mere mortals like myself, the cue helps me draw the cue ball better than anything else I have ever had.

Just for the record, in the past, I haven't been around Bobby that much but after listening to him talk about various pool subjects for a good while, I am convinced he is one of the TOP SOURCES of VALID POOL INFORMATION. When Bobby talks, JoeyA listens.

If it would improve my game by 2 balls I would buy any cue/shaft on the market, but unfortunately, it's just like golf. If I slice the ball with a long hitting driver, I'm just farter off in the woods than before I changed drivers. :embarrassed2:

I doubt that the REVO will change my game 2 balls, but I am positive that I can draw the ball more easily and when I do use side spin on a shot, I am slightly more accurate on sharp angle cuts. The only thing I can think is that for myself, I may know approximately where to hit the object ball on a sharp cut shot, I don't always account for enough collision induced throw with my regular playing cue but when I shoot the same shot with the REVO it has some extra spin, even with a half tip of English/side, the ball more often than not finds it's way to the pocket. Or it is just the "new cue" syndrome or I'm just getting lucky. :D

A friend of mine tried this shaft, and when I saw him the next time at the hall he didn't have it. When I asked about it, he said it was putting a lot more spin on the ball than his old maple shaft, that he sent it back. I did hit a few balls with it before he sent it back, and it did feel pretty good.

Personally, I have changed from a regular maple shaft to a cored shaft that is lower deflection and it has seemed to help me a lot. I have tried the "low deflection shafts" and just could never get used to the feel.

I've been playing with my REVO for more than a week. I won two tournaments this Thursday and Friday night at Lacy's Cue (small field buut good competition and short races). Trying to win the trifecta, scotch doubles handicapped event, TODAY.

Have to be careful and pay more attention to the amount of side spin I am using.

If you call running over 400 on a diamond with an OB-2 busting someone's game, then sign me up.

His 400+ ball runs were not on a diamond. His high run on a diamond is in the upper 200's, maybe 280 IIRC or very close to that anyway. I also think I recall John saying he thought his high run on the diamond was a bigger feat that he was more proud of it than his actual high run. No idea what shaft he used for his high run on a diamond.

What a grind.

The trifecta didn't come easy. My partner was another jarhead, same age as me. Most of the guys we played against were almost half our age. It was only 8 or 9 teams and the majority of our matches went hill-hill. It was a handicapped event and we had the highest handicap, although the other team who made it to the finals were also same handicap (7). I made a few mistakes but they had to beat us twice. They beat us the first set and the second set went down to the wire and we won 7-6. I was so tired, I took off from playing pool for a few days.

I know what it was on, he was playing a buddy of mine when he did it.

I'm confused. If you knew that he had not run over 400 on a diamond, then why did you say that he ran over 400 on a diamond?

I just received my Predator Revo Shaft in the Radial 12.4 mm and am wondering if anyone has noticed a black transfer from the shaft to your bridge hand making your hand black after shooting with the shaft for a few hours of play?

Also, when I wiped the shaft down when I finished playing I used a very damp white industrial napkin and the napkin turned black too.

I'm surprised no one else has commented on this or had a similar experience?

By the way, I love my Revo and am very thankful I now own this shaft.

Mr Poolzen, Did the problem go away ?

I picked up a Revo 12.4 and also noticed a black residue on my bridge hand and also saw further black residue on my damp micro-fiber cloth when I wiped it down.

I am hoping this is because there was some very fine loose residue left on the shaft after it's manufacture. If this is the case, the amount of residue left on my hand should decrease as I play more and even sooner if I wipe the shaft down more regularly. If it does not decrease, then it means the cue's surface is being worn down slowly which is bad news.

Hopefully, you saw a steady decrease in residue on your hand ?
