Started shooting pool at home around the same time I learned about drugs.

I tried the college thing and dating, that didnt work for me. I wanted so much more out of life and had no idea what I was doing. I was feeding bad habits.

Eventually I joined a pool league with more older citizens and lots of soon to be retirees. Being around an older crowd was so socially. Most of them just said things that were spot on in matches, like they could read me. After thinking I was a decent pool player and getting taught how much i need to learn. i stopped playing pool.

I managed to stop drug use but suffered withdraw symptoms for awhile. Returned to college picked up a couple of degrees. Failed horribly at dating. Then decided to start shooting league. It help me learn to put up with noise while I concentrate a hugely underrated skill in my workplace.

The workplace was toxic and I picked up drinking. Soon i decided i need pool league in my life.

Still not a great league player but I have realistic expectations at my match.
Got diagnosed with tumor and stopped pool league and drinking.

Got a major surgery. When I got better pool league was top of my list.

pool league is just what worked for me despite being unsuccessful.

Shared a story because I moving on. Sports provide great traditions and communities. Billiards worked for me because I think it had the right mix at the right times in my life.

Nowadays i feel i had serious life experiences and take things way more lightly. League pool for me will always be more than just a night at the bar.

didnt spell check or proof read this one, its mostly a success story wth pool driving me through tough times. i shared it because meeting people is tough and maybe the people in pool league that you play are going through tough times but have nowhere
else to go or confront those challenges wth.

Yes look around. Doesn't matter if you are in the grocery store, mickyd's,or the poolhall, people are there for differant reasons. Those reasons arent always obvious.

I have found all 4 of my wives, at Micky Ds.
3 of them worked there ,the last one was there for the breakfast burritos, after a night out on the town.

I too have been a serial groom having been married 3 times. I could go on and on about what terrible choices I made in "mate selection" but instead have come up with something good I could say about my previous marriages. One thing they had in common was they were all good housekeepers.

After divorcing, they all kept the house.
