My son and I had an awesome time at the SBE.

We got to meet Mike Dechaine, Jeanette Lee, Allison Fisher & none other than the big guy himself, Alan Hopkins. All were very gracious & very fan friendly.
My son got an impromptu lesson from Allison, very kewl! Thank you Allison! She's launched her own line of cues www.allisonfisher.com
We got to run into Jennifer Barretta & Gregg McAndrews yet again...always a cool thing www.skylinebilliardsandbar.com.
Mike Sigel was in attendance as well. He is launching a NEW Pool league. The business model seems impressive. It's still open for investors. Here the website: www.UnitedBilliardLeagues.com
3 of his cases later, I finally got to meet the Balabushka of Cue cases, Joe Whitten www.whittencases.com AND his beautiful sister.
From the forum here I got to meet Lyn, the Cardiac Kid, in person.

My son & I did about as expected for his 1st tournament and my 1st tournament in a very, very long time, lol. But we didn't let that rain on our good time.

Watching the Pros ply their trade up close was awesome and worth the trip by itself.
We got to see 2 of Jennifer Barretta's matches & during 1 of them we got to meet her dad who sat right next to us. What a nice gentlemen he is. Very cool experience.
I also got to watch the Mike Dechaine vs. Earl Strickland match up close. Poor Earl. Mike simply dominated.

A special shout out to HighRock Productions who were running the Molinari Booth. They gave my son a FREE Molinari Billiard Glove and a Box of Molinari Chalk www.3cushioncues.com.
The folks at Lights Out Billiard Apparel, who recently signed on as a sponsor of Jennifer Barretta, were extra nice to us as well https://www.lightsoutbilliards.com/.

There was so much going on and so much to do, but what I saw mostly was family. I saw the love of this game being passed on to the next generation.
This is not lost on Alan Hopkins as it's obvious that he's gone to great lengths to make this a kid & family friendly event.
Next year, I plan on bringing my wife and my 7yo son too. -Z-

Looks like he had an awesome time like my son Jin..... we should have had them practice a few racks.

See you there next year

Great

Those are some really great photos and some really great memories you and your son
can share many many years .

So glad you guys enjoyed your time. Wish I was able to meet you guys and Lyn as well but the concrete really killed my already aching back. I basically sat most of the 2 days I was there.

My only complaint every year - and it has nothing to do with the event - is the pounding your feet/other body parts take from that concrete floor. I've switched shoes and tried to limit the amount of time I spend on my feet and nothing helps. The only way to avoid it is to arrive and plop down somewhere but that's really not an option.

BTW Steve, don't know if you saw him but Paul Drexler was at the event as well.

Yes, I ran into Paul. Always good to see him. I have flat feet so I feel your pain. I wear Brooks running shoes. Warren Buffet bought them a year or so ago. Amazing support. If nothing else check out their website. They are not like any other shoe on the market
