Turning Stone Classic XXX

can someone please post a link to the final when it starts? Not an fb member, and not seeing any live stream when i go UpstateAl's page
Don't feel "Alone Ranger"............I'm a facebook member and I've had nothing but trouble trying to view these matches since the contest started.
Didn't get to see a one. Always something wrong.
This was very disappointing because Al usually doesn't fool around with crazy service...he's reliable all the way.
It is what it is, I guess.

What were the issues? I'm not a fan of the service but I didn't have one problem with all the matches I saw from this tournament via Facebook. These were all on a PC viewing with Chrome. I did some tests using Edge too and that was no problem. Were yours all from trying with a phone or iPad or something?

I think it is obvious that this is going to be a growing way these are streamed, unfortunately.

You Tube is the best.
Plus..... don't cut it off in a hurry. Al did.
Trophy presentations. Interviews!!!!!
Pool deserves better.
Let's bring it back to the 80's. Sad.

Not.
POV Pool on U Tube gives FB the 7

But doesn't U tube have constant commercials or you have to load extensions to try to bock them? Or am I thinking of ustream.

I didn't have a commercial pop up the whole tournament on Facebook.

I did what you did.
On a PC using Chrome to get into my facebook.
All I ever got was "error". I tried every link Al put up.
Upstate Al is a very reliable streamer.
And I have one of the best PC's there is and its tuned up by the "SVB of computers"...so there's nothing wrong with my equipment.
I never got to see one single match. I'd rather pay and get to see the show instead of having a "freebie" and getting to see nothing.

1. SVB
2. Archer
3. Lombardo
4. Hjorliefson

Finals was 13-7 or so. Maybe I'm off by a rack. SVB jumped out to a 6-1 lead and maintained it the rest of the set. It never felt very close. SVB doesn't even have to play his best to be hard for any other American player to beat. Meanwhile Archer played much stronger in the finals than the hotseat match but couldn't get anything going with his break. Playing SVB without a break working is not much fun. It was still a great display of heart and talent by Johnny and of overall prowess by SVB, but wasn't exactly a nail biter.

Congrats to SVB for another good win, and Kudos to Johnny for a 2nd place. I know it pales in comparison to his 90's resume but after turning 50 this year that is a heck of a finish with a lot of triple tough matches. And he represented himself well in the finals but was just up against a monster. In some ways it was almost like SVB was playing his future self. They had a lot of mutual respect.

I found it very touching when Hunter L. and Johnny A. hugged each other after their late-round match was over. Showed a human side to a sport that sometimes seems like is played by robots.

Hey you had an AWESOME tournament Tin Man. And I now for sure SVB has strong respect for Archer. Geez the guy is not only legendary, but still is top 10 USA material.

Johnny Archer cannot be 50! I remember when he was 17!

Are you kidding me?
...I had more fun on a 286 with dial up...

And it seems like the people on FB who COULD get the stream had to keep finding
new links.......this, to you, is reliable?

I had a paid subscription recently of the Deuel-Smith match......
....they still wanted me to join FB....

Daniel at POV can give the orange crush in this spot with his YouTube streams
....and BIg Truck also

Wait a minute....this is Biebs....are you turning my crank?

Had no problem with the FB stream. They could make getting the link for each match easier for some to find. I was getting notifications from AL's FB page. Well done stream!

I'm far from tech savvy but also had no problems with getting this FB stream.

Early on, maybe first 2 days they were changing the links a few times but thereafter seemed like the main link that UpstateAl provided on post #1 of his Live Stream forum thread worked fine the rest of the time.

Quality looked good and never conked out other than when they announced they were about to refresh the stream so I would justhave to refresh also or re-log on and that was it.

Al did say a number of times that FB only allows streaming up to 4 hours straight before having to do a refresh. In the scheme of things this seemed like a minor inconvenience.

best,
brian kc
