gotta be Shaw. i'll bet 500 it's Shaw.
yup. Shaw.

That poor ref.
What an ass this guy is.
Him and Dechaine ought go on the road. Probably be more fist-fights than pool. Felt sorry for that ref. Should have told him to STFU and hit em'. Colossal a^*wipe.

I think that's a tropical delusion.

Hah, like it.. it was a filament of my amalgamation.

Norm Crosby, anybody?

Oh, and Shaw?.. put a clock on him. How about a rule saying you can only get X number of re-racks?
Say like 5 re-racks.. then you have to accept it and get the f**k on with it.

IMO, three would be enough. There certainly be a lot more appreciation in hindsight of the racks they've refused thus, likely leading to most players just accepting the first rack offered. It's a win-win for all, but especially the spectators.

In all fairness, this is their livelihood. Even 1 unsuccessful break at this level can cost you the match and $20,000.

Yes, and the players who compete in the event expect perfect breaks with perfectly tight racks on brand new tables, felt, balls and racking template.

That being said, the above suggestion on X no. of reracks is brilliant.

Was he always like this or did his time living with earl do this

He has always been that way. You think that is bad? Lol..... you should see him in a private gambling match.

Talk about someone to avoid, it's him. Not because of his skill level but more because most think/know he is an a55hat.

People keep comparing him to earl. Why? The difference, to me, is that Earl' s game is worth his drama. Even today, but not this guy. No way!!!!!

His opponent was in same position yet he didn't try all the sharing tactics as butthead did..... and still beat him.

I hope he never wins another title. Maybe he would then do everyone a favor and quit and get some help.

Sure, wanting a good rack is sharking:rolleyes:

Did you not watch the vid?

Sure, we all want a "good" rack. If you think what he did was acceptable, lol I don't want to play none.

Bottom line for racks:

Bad rack
Good rack
PERFECT RACK

What if everyone held out for the PERFECT rack? People would never watch, period.

I do not believe all of the rejected racks was bad. As a matter of fact, I've seen him in person way to many times and know that yes, he does it as a shaking tactic at times if he thinks his opponent is growing tired of it.

Now this has to be the worst example of nit-pickin' I've ever seen.

Start at the 1:36 minute mark: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhwW98thfx8

You cannot convince me that he couldn't have opted to break ANY of those racks he turned down and at least got as good a result as he did on the one he accepted.

This sh*t is getting out of hand.

Watching PROS playing 9 ball is a waste of time anyway, though I do love Ko's wonderful position play.

If they insist on keeping 9 ball as a pro game, there is only one solution that will be a decent compromise: The players will be allowed a very quick inspection of the rack, they cannot comment on it in any way, and there will be no reracks. If I were a TD, I might go even more extreme and not allow any inspections either, just knowing that players can't be trusted to be either quick or quiet about it. Nobody wants to see people squinting forever and we don't want to hear them ***** or whine, either. It makes for lousy entertainment.

This is not the first time something like this has happened, but it's got to be the most extreme instance, at least in my memory, and I've watched a lot of matches. It's only topped by Earl bringing a bloody magnifying glass to the table, but even that didn't take this long.

I know this don't mean two s**ts to a dead fly, but I won't even watch this guy. Period. And yeah, he plays well. So normally, that's enough for me to fade this, that and the other. But not with this guy. I can't even bring myself to rubberneck his matches, regardless of the possible train-wrecks coming. I wonder if anyone else feels the same way about not watching him play...

Yeah, let's make it three re-racks maximum. Texas Express was created to speed up the game for spectators and TV / video... nothing worse that slowing it down with nitting
over the rack. I watched an old match with Kimmer and Earl, and they simply got
got on with it... Earl's worse than he used to be.

Sorry, kinda blamed the ref on that one. She racked with a template. He can say whatever he wants about wanting a rerack. All she had to do was say "all balls are touching mr. SHAW. It's your break". If she couldn't get all ball touching. Maybe try another template or find which ball may be causing the issue. I mean isn't that the point of using a template.

You obviously didn't try to rack balls with shitty Chinese templates

Some of those templates do rack a little different but all of the Chinese templates I've used are imo fine. Like "any" template, triangle etc..... nothing is gonna be 100% perfect.

To me it boils down to shitty players, not shitty racks.

He wouldn’t have got too many opponents in the action days....
...anybody who took a long time to rack didn’t get played much.

If a guy took sixteen minutes, he would’ve looked up,to see an empty pool hall....
