Ko Pin Yi v Johann Chua
https://youtube.com/watch?v=2IhPSsp14rw
8-6 Ko
Chua was down 8-3 when he took over. From there the only game where Ko got back to the table was at 5-8 and he had a few chances to win that game, but couldn't make a good shot when he had the chance. After Chua won that game to make it 6-8, he ran out the match, five of the most beautiful Ten Ball racks you'll ever see. He made some very tricky run outs along the way. In the final game at 10-8, Chua finally got out of line on the eight ball and had a bad angle to get shape on the nine. He made the eight and bumped the nine, leaving a difficult tight angle for his next shot. He opted to shoot a severe cut on the nine into the side and go up and down the table for the ten. He made the nine but over ran position for the ten. He left the cue ball in the jaws of the corner pocket and the ten near the spot, a very testy little shot into the side pocket to win the match. If anyone was every going to fold under pressure, this would be it. Chua calmly stepped up there and rolled that ten ball dead in the side. The man is one great pool player. He just made Ko look like the weaker player.
One other thing to note. Late in the match, Chua was hooked on the three ball by the ten, which was only a couple of inches away. The cue ball was about a diamond behind them. Chua pulled out his jump cue and made the most unbelievable jump shot I think I've ever seen during a match. He jumped the full ten and landed on the three, forcing it forward into the pocket. The cue ball then backed up for perfect position on the four. Holy Moley! And the best part is you can see this match on Youtube now.
