2018 WPA World 9 Ball

Did you notice that same ref felt the need to grab the magic rack from the rail, right under Melling as he was about to shoot? i’ll find the pic and post it

Poor guy. It must be him...

I remember once seeing him ask a ref in the middle of a game to clean a cueball. The ref just reached down, grabbed the cueball from --wherever-- and started wiping it in his cloth; look on Melling's face was priceless...

HAhaha! Poor dude!

In Corey Deuel match against Kazakis, the score was 9-8, Corey breaks and makes 5 ball. Then he went and sat down, and then Kazakis shoots and runs out. What's up with that? Did they not realize he made a ball on break? (time is 1:53 in match)

3 point rule....

A minimum of 3 balls has to get past the head string and/or go down on the break for the player to stay at the table.

Magic racks are explicitly forbidden to be on the rail, I believe.

As absurd and misguided as the "rule" is, Corey kept breaking the same damn way. Guess he was missing his Mosconi coach.

For the time being it was the BIGGEST match of this WPC for me and great comeback from 5:8 when it looked like there was no hope for Shane with that kind of break from Chang... The result tells...it seems like SVB is ready mentally for the dream coming true. Two more steps to go...

the Wu-Biado match was also a thriller. Real tight match!

He was literally in his backswing when the ref ran over

I’m thinking snooker etiquette at this level, which Melling knows very well.
...you shoot when the ref is done.
...if you shoot a red while the ref is still spotting a color.....it’s a foul.
....if you shoot when the ref has spotted a ball on the wrong spot...it’s a foul.

In snooker, it is up to the player to see that the table is in order before he shoots....
...can’t pass the blame onto the ref.

Jay, call me a fool if you want...but you have earned your reputation as anti American.... and you are supposed to be a so called non biased commentator and you seemed to relish one competitor(Shane) losing.... most people don’t get joy out of someone else losing as you seem to get...wonder why???

Also, i guess you are the end all be all because you know it’s difficult to come back from 3 games down alternate break to another great player.... too bad for you the American did just that.

And for the guy that said jay and Shane are friends and jay is a reason Shane has money or whatever... i would say a real friend would not say what jay did and also i don’t know for sure but i would think that Shane’s 200k+ yearly income is the main reason he is most likely financially stable.
