Wilkie, Tokoph, Roberts—Mosconi ready?

While these gentlemen have played for years, seems their games have picked up several notches of late. I know Josh was part of the pool of Mosconi prospects last year, but how do you all feel? Tommy looks particularly strong, and Shawn had a strong Turning Stone too.

Bodes well for American pool.

(and, yes, I already foresee Melling and Filler on Team Euro)

I know and like all three of them, but I'm not sure. Josh Roberts is definitely ready. Wilkie and Tokoph, for my money, aren't quite Mosconi-ready yet, and to me, there are Americans who've never played in the Mosconi Cup that are higher in the pecking order, such as Donny Mills and Jeremy Sossei.

That said, though, Wilkie and Tokoph are dedicated players who work hard at their craft and may prove Mosconi worthy one day.

I wouldn’t have thought Styer ready and he rose to the occasion. I’m more open minded after that. But I do think of it as playing against the percentages.

Call me crazy, how about sticking with the team that just broke a decade long drought.... Dunno, I could be wrong, but, I think this group of guys definitely like money and Country! HEY who am I to think something that worked, would work again, that's just silly talk...

maybe.... there's no question about dechaine and bergman being ready, though.

Don't overlook Chris Robinson, a young player from Ventura who is improving rapidly. Chris was on the short list of 2018 Mosconi captains picks, and yesterday he won his first Mezz West State Tour title.

ok, calling you crazy. do you think Europe has only 5 ready players? I wasn’t suggesting replacing anyone, just adding to our pool of talented options.

yes, Chris is good, and on par with Tyler, so an option. But I don’t know if he’s as developed as the other names mentioned.

To put somebody on somebody has to go. Let’s review.

SVB. On. No question. No discussion. Period full stop.

Skyler. Killed it. On

Thorpe. On.

Cory. Not his best outing but Senior dude who can do great things. Would you take him off?

Tyler played great. One time wonder? How do you take him off?

Based on my scorecard unless someone’s performance during the year plummets. Same team as last year.

For my money the next up is Berg or Oscar. Those mentioned are still outside of them.

I think you get the top 5 fargoratings to commit to a program like last year and see what happens.

2018 - shock... 2019 - awe

It is hard to argue against bringing back the same team, but I think if Bergman wants to play he should be in. He is just too talented and proven to leave off. I’d say the same for Dechaine but he isn’t playing full time and has struggled in the mc in the past

Yes Mike would be in the consideration if he was full time.

Mike told me he MIGHT consider doing Johann’s program.

Sounds vague.

Contingent on what? Whether he’s wanted? Whether he feels like it? Whether he can get time off work for it? Whether he’ll be considered without touring all year? Whether he and SVB bury the hatchet?

I’m not holding my breath without hearing more.

He didn’t offer more, and I didn’t press him.
