It's a small sample size but I notice both Corey and Bergman run out about 65% after Bergman's break. Bergman seems to both make a ball more often and make more runnable racks.

Thanks-Deuel getting waxed in every category. Still he showed he can win battling back from 15-10 to tie it and then having it tied again at 27!! It was a close match and i look for a closer match tonight-Wish they'd start at 4 PM EST Last night's match was 8 hours plus i believe.

spot seems fair. didn't think it would (well maybe it wont)

is corey generally not so good on the small size tables? i have only seen him play 8-ball at IPT

He is usually great at bar table 8 ball. However it seems to me he is better on valleys than diamonds.

I was surprised that Bergman gave him a spot but maybe he really is better than Corey at bar table 8 ball

If Corey can get 2 more BNR out of 13, he might've won the match.

6/13 46% on successful breaks is not unreasonable for someone of his caliber.

That is still well less than Bergman 63% BNR on successful breaks.

4/24 BNR on all breaks is VERY LOW for Corey.

I look for Corey to play much better today.

Deuel broke from a few inches off the side rail into the second ball. He changed sides fairly late in the match, but stuck with the 2nd-ball break.

Bergman broke from the side into the 2nd ball for his first 21 breaks, but then he switched to a head-ball break with the CB just off center. The 2nd-ball break was successful early in the match (7 of first 8 breaks) but then pretty poor (5 successful of next 13). After switching to a head-ball break he was successful on 7 of 9.

That match could’ve went the other way easily.....
...i watched a little...Corey blew 3 games by being heavy handed on position....
....I don’t expect Corey to do that...he handles whitey well.

Maybe Corey should change his break strategy if things don’t improve with his second ball break

Corey never changes from the second ball break. I've played guys that hate so much to hit the head ball, scatter the balls, and not make a ball and watch you run out, that they figure they would rather take their chances with a clustered up table.

One guy that I played did this. He broke hitting the head ball, didn't make a ball, and I ran out. He then used the second ball break. He broke and ran 4 racks in a row that way. Then broke dry hitting the second ball, and I ran out anyway.

I literally HATE the second ball break. Sure, you can often make a ball, but trying to run out with clusters all over the table just seems crazy to me. Why do that if you can spread them open and make a ball.

I agree- especially at corey’s level of play- he must have a head ball break that works well and he of course has no trouble running out

Because if you don't make a ball, your opponent is out. Pro's playing 8 ball is fun to watch, especially dealing with clusters. much more enjoyable then 9 ball.

I like the second ball break, I always find that I'm more comfortable dealing with the clusters then most of my opponents.

I used to play a guy in league, against everyone else I would break hitting the head ball. Against him, he hated it so bad that I used to play the 2nd ball on purpose just for the sheer joy of hearing him b*tch and moan about how the 2nd ball break should be banned

Uh, you guys questioning Ccorey’s breaking strategy....youse guys realize that Corey
has caused breaking rules to be modified more than any other player in history?

52% (28 of 54) of the games were won with stripes. For Bergman it was 60% (18 of 30), and for Deuel it was 42% (10 of 24).

You know how many of those games were when he made two or more balls on the break vs making one stripe?

Edit: I mean making one of each
2nd Edit: think I read this wrong. Was assuming off the break
