I'm looking forward to watching this match. I would also prefer to watch a match of 10 ball or American rotation, rather then 9 ball. If they decide on 9 ball, it'll still be a good match.

Should be a great match to sweat.

The top players in the Philippines matchup all the time, that's one of the reasons the stay in top form.

Now we have the top two Americans ready to battle it out, great to see imo.

Shane has his race to 50 vs JL Chang at the end of April in that invitational qualifier.

Wish there was something immediately on the line rather than 20% of ppv profits. Which is no more than 1K.

Is this 9 ball or 10 ball?

I wont be watching cause I don't like rotation games much, but what is this qualifier for? something bigger down the line?

Supposed 8 matches like this. Then I believe the winners play an 8 man tournament, winner gets 20K.

So Shaw beat Sky and is in.

The matches alone players get 20% ppv profits. Traveling expenses are paid for.

It seems like each time Shsne and Chang plays, commentators are always claiming each side has 20K+ on the line. Not sure if I'm buying that. I think Chang beat Shane at the DCC 10b bigfoot challenge. I could be remembering wrong.

Amen.... This is long over due.

Been waiting for Shane and Dechaine. Seems like back then Dechaine was always ducking. MD actually has a good record vs Shane.

Bergman has offered to pay Mike D many times over the last few years.

I think Justin gave up on that and realized it was never going to happen.

We need a 4-man tourney, SVB, Dechaine, Berg, and Sky.

Race to 21, single elim.

That would be a good one.

I’m excited to see this match. I see a lot of downing 9 ball and saying it’s too easy but how often does anyone, even elite level, run out the set? It’s a fast game, the “ease” of the 9B is what makes it tough/exciting, if you miss you loose...and maybe loose many racks before seeing the table again. And then seeing a guy come back to win with a 6 piece with his opponent on the hill, it’s good stuff. I love all pool games equally though, maybe I’m strange.

I think Justin may have bit off a little more than he can chew here. I have mad respect for him taking on Shane, who has been America's 'Number One' for a long, long time, BUT! Shane is proud of who he is the Pool firmament, especially in the USA and he is not about to give up his supremacy easily. Kind of like Dennis in the Philippines. There is a certain pride that goes with being the best in your entire country at something! Underneath it all, that can mean as much or more than the money associated with the position.

I will only add this. If the Captain had a wild card choice for Team USA in the MC, I'd damn sure give it to Justin. IMO he is #2 in this country. Even his buddy Skylar would probably admit to this as well.

I have seen you post about this many times,

Terry, the one big difference I see in creating matches like this here as opposed to the Philippines is the distance and expense involved. In the Philippines everything is an hour to an hour and half plane flight away, and it might cost $100 (or less) to get there. Lodging is also dirt cheap by comparison, and players will often stay in someone's home that they know in each city. So if there is action happening in one of the major cities (like Manila, Cebu or Davao), players can show up on a moments notice (maybe a day in reality). One phone call and the guy is there the next day, ready to play, with no jet lag. As you know that is not he case in this country, and why we need guys like you and Ray to put together matches like this well in advance. So thanks for your efforts. Pool fans like me applaud you. :clapping:
