Aramith Red Measles. Insert Card 6.

Good evening, everyone.

Here is the latest update of my insert card project. If you would like to learn a little more about the process followed in photographing the balls shown in the rectangular picture frame, or perhaps how I drew the computer generated image underneath, please refer back to my original post number 1133.

Best wishes,

RC.

Good afternoon, everyone. :)

Alas, I have some rather frustrating news.

Throughout this thread I have always employed the services of Tinypic (a free photo sharing platform) to post up images of my billiard ball collection to the forum. Sadly, whilst uploading the latest three pictures (shown above) the site informed users that it would soon be ceasing to operate. When that happens all my existing photographs and illustrations on this thread will disappear.

What a damned shame! :(

Best wishes,
RC.

...
If neither of these options are suitable, dear chap, and you have set your heart on one of the exact same cueballs from Xinjue (shown in my collector’s insert card post above) there is a possibility I might be able to acquire one for you. I hesitate slightly in making any firm promise, sir, because they can be a little tricky to contact.

Best wishes,
RC.

RC, if you have the time to check, I'd like you to. I'll pay a finders fee.
I'd like a nice one.

What great additions, bfriesth!

Love the Casino set. Easily a Top 10. Easiest way to play and introduce 8-ball play and patterns to better anyone’s game.

EZRs are EZ and sweet

Great job finding the Sterling CC - that all-crossed set is the rarest. They look perfect.

The Vigma Vortex are favorites around my place for 10 ball for some reason

As for your classic Aramith Poker set - why of course someone can show you a FEW great ways to play those.....Especially a unique “Royals” game I came up with for a good friend. Here is the pre-game setup:

Great pics too, b! The transformation from your first few posts is like night and day

Thanks for the inspiring contributions, sir!

~ K.

Are you sure you can shoot a straight stick after this pre-game?

Hello again, Buster. :)

I’ll try my very best, dear fellow.

Could you send me your home address via private message please, sir? I’ll need it when enquiring about the single ball to work out shipping costs etc.

Best wishes,
RC.

I sure can

That Royal line-up is for the guest players.

And it all starts with this game title in a 96 point font, so they don’t ever know how bad they really get....they’re rubbing their eyes from the get-go trying to figure what is going on. All part of the strategy

Good afternoon, Mr K. :)

Not only have you devised a fabulous game concept with Royal Crowns, sir, beholding that glorious array of whiskies one cannot help but imagine a new collecting thread for NPR is surely on the horizon.

Best wishes,
RC.

One quick question please, sir:

Do you post your beautiful photographs on this thread via AZB’s own image upload process? Or do you employ a third party service such as Tinypic or Photobucket?

All my pictures and illustrations are about to disappear so I’ll need a back up plan to slowly replace them.

Best wishes,
RC.

Back in post numbers 899 and 1054, two ball sets were shared featuring an American brewery company most folks are familiar with - even if that means seeing their great tv ads across the decades.

....edited for length...

Perfectly color matched and weight tolerances within Tournament specs. Made in one of the untold China provinces, but they are a novelty ball set that play beautifully and will surely bring a smile when unveiled for a Pals & Pool & Pilsner night of games

Where there’s life, there’s Bud.

~ K.

I have a Bud set that are supposedly Elephant (the company, not the animal and there are only generic markings on the box so I really can't say). I was never a fan of their various beers and if I'm not mistaken the Belgian brewer InBev acquired Anheuser-Busch (including the Budweiser brand) a decade ago.

And "sticking" with the beer theme, some Rolling Rock.

That’s my favourite set of the Budweisers, Mr L. And what a great little collection of Rolling Rock memorabilia.

Many thanks for contributing to the thread, sir. Always much appreciated.

Best wishes,
RC.

I fancy myself a beer connoisseur. I live in Colorado which is the Craft Beer capital of the world so it has been many years since I have had a Budweiser or a Rolling Rock but I greatly appreciate the Bud set and the "33" ball. Thanks for the photos.

Below are photos of my makeshift Baseball Set. I could not put my hands on an original set but this is my temporary solution until I can find set. Ken Hash from allpool.net had a set of add on 16-21 balls made. I bought them along with an original set of Premiers. I think you can see by the photos that they are not a perfect match but maybe it will get me by until I find an original set of Baseballs.

I travel all over the country. There are as many places that think they are the epicenter of craft brewing as ther are diners that claim to have the world's best coffee. San Diego, Portland, Ann Arbor(MI), Chicago, St Louis, Denver, Minneapolis all come to mind. Craft brewing is huge in most any large city and they all have great beers.

There are also a lot of great "production" beers out there that started out small...much like the trajectory Titos Vodka has taken.

But back to pool balls, novelty sets of dubious origin and quality are fairly common. Sets that are both unique advertising and playable are tough to find. The Rolling Rock set is only the single ball but well made, as are the cue and case that comes with the set. The Bud set I have is middle of the road. I haven't played with them yet but they appear to be decent but clearly not top shelf quality.

Thanks Logical. Of course I have to be partial to Colorado Beer, and maybe even narrow that down to Boulder County but because you get around more than be do you have a favorite place with a great beer scene?
