Top 10 Pool and Billiard Myths Busted and Debunked

Thanks for reminding me.

What about the myth that playing a certain game will make you better at a different game?

When Efren came to the states in 1985 he showed American players a game of 9 ball they were not familiar with. The skills he had developed mastering 3 cushion billiards added an aspect to his pool game that allowed him to dominate on the pool table.:p

Before Efren players were kicking to make a hit. Efren showed that he could kick to pocket the ball or play safe off of it consistently.

But the fact that he also played 15-ball rotation might have helped him do amazing things at nine ball.

Absolutely, his skills navigating through traffic comes to my mind as being critical in rotation.

One night in the practice room at the Sands in Reno, a player was barking at Efren to play straight pool. Efren broke and ran two racks in rotation and then looked at him and asked, "are you sure you want to play straight pool?"
