What would you do?

That depends on what's ordered, but factory is 4 1/2"

so from what I've read on the rest of the posts, they are just rails designed to make bar tables(in this case valleys) harder to play correct? would a valley than play just as hard as a diamond 7 footer with those rails?

Not even close, the pocket shelf is to shallow. Making the pocket opening smaller has the same effect on the pocket shelf, it makes it even more shallow.

I wouldn’t go as far to say not even close...but close to a diamond. One thing that helps this is that the ridgeback pro-cut rails are a half inch wider/ thicker depending on how you look at it which shrinks the total playing surface by an inch. This makes the shelf deeper than standard rails. It will definitely spit balls out similar to a diamond. My friend has a new diamond 7ft pro pocket table. They are close but a diamond is a diamond, which play the best IMO

Those are buckets for pockets, throat of the pocket is wider than the mouth, which deflects everything to the back as well as no slate shelf for the balls to sit on....LOL

I did notice the mouth was tighter than the throat, but did not know that made it easier than a standard 4 1/2" Valley pocket.

What you say makes perfect sense. Next time I visit that room, I'll be sure to choose a different table.

I've never seen pockets on any table cut like that. Every ball that touches the facing will drop. Is that in a room/club setting?

Coin operated pool tables are designed this way : the faster the game ends, the faster you’ll put another loonie in there... assbackwards pocket angles and close to no shelf = loonie pit

It is in a large room.
7' Valley, but not a coin op. Had new cloth with a new Ridgeback Rails spot.

Same room has 7' Diamonds with bad dimpling on the cushions.

They have quite a few 9' Diamond red labels, but they were all in play.
