I dunno if those numbers are accurate, buy if they are I see why some people don't want to discuss and say its nobodies business.90 double jeopardy teams? I don't know your league dues but typically between $7-10 per person per match. Let 's go low to start so $7... 90 teams of 5, each team pays $70 per night (35 for 8-ball, 35 for 9-ball). 90 teams x $70 is $6300 per week. Now multiply that by 48 weeks $302,400. Are you still happy he is being so generous to fund 3 teams to nationals? haha
Bump those dues up to $10 per match and you get $432k
Back to you...
Edit: APA national gets 20% ($60,480)...so $241,920 left for him
Yes, that is what the double jeopardy teams do
SBC's posts can be aggravating to some at times. I like shooting league but it's not for everyone. Getting more kids into billiards at a young age would obviously be great for the sport and I hope you pursue it.
That being said........ jesus christ you come off like a pompous bastard and I don't think that helps your case. Berating grown ass men for how they spend their leisure time on a board with an actual action room. Gambling does sometimes give me a chubb blackjack, darts, pool, whatever. You mentioned a few pro sports. Well news to you, if you couldn't gamble on it the audience would be greatly diminished.
Snooker got big because you could throw 5 pounds on Higgins down the bookies and go home and watch the tournament.
Also why the hate against Paul Newman, that was a solid flick. You can be against gambling and still appreciate it.
I hope you do well with the junior pool stuff we need it. But get off your high horse, gamblers aren't all degenerate anymore than drinkers are all alcoholics.

Had to look it up, never heard of it before.
Adjust your math the team fee for DJ is 40 dollars a team.

Double Jeopardy
A Double Jeopardy division is actually two separate divisions in one. The Double Jeopardy format allows players to play on both an 8 Ball and a 9 Ball team. Both team matches are played on adjacent tables at the same time. Since both team matches are played at the same time, it doesn't add any more time to your league night. The 8 Ball and 9 Ball teams don't have to be identical. Some of the players may choose to be on only one of the teams, and additional players can be added to the other team. Wow! Tell me more!...Team rosters can either be the same on 'both' your teams (the most common) or your team may actually consist of separate 8 Ball and 9 Ball rosters. Carrying anywhere from the minimum 4 common players to 8 common players.
What are the benefits of Double Jeopardy? Well to begin with, it's TWICE THE FUN! You should never have to sit all night, you will play 8 ball or 9 Ball or maybe BOTH if you want. It's Double your chance for you team to Qualify for the LTC's. It's TWICE THE ACTION for all you pool junkies! What else?... Well, for those of you that only have one night free a week for pool but can't decide on either 8 Ball or 9 ball, this is your perfect solution... a 2-for-1 deal!
Sounds good, but what does this cost?... The team fees are only $40 per team. Remember though, that Double Jeopardy is actually 'two' teams. If you set your team up right, everyone will play every week, it costs $1 less and you have two chances to qualify for Vegas!
What else should I know?... Any host location needs to have a minimum of 2 pool tables available for league play.
Lowest fees I've seen at $4 per match. Most are minimum $7. that's why I used that number. Smaller areas like the one you referenced lower the fees. That takes is down to $172,800 - 34,560 (for APA nationals) $138,240
90 teams is small for an APA league. Not saying it doesn't happen but most local playoffs and such just use the bar tables they play on during the week. No need to rent anything.
Those numbers could be off in either direction. $4 per match is almost unheard of and I used double jeopardy for the examples. If there were 90 teams, chances are there could be doubles and Masters as well. Fees varies for all.
So 138,240 is gross, you still have to pay for the teams trips to vegas. Guessing about 5k per team. Expenses in regards to collecting and imputing scores each week. Hall rental for tourneys, maybe even renting tables for your bigger tourneys, at 3X per year.
You might even be paying off a business loan or second mortgage you had to do in order to buy the league in the first place.
Seems like more of a labor of love to me than a get-rich quick scheme.
Dont forget those pesky taxes!
I guess I'm spoiled a little. The last place I lived used one of 2 venues, bnoth bars. One had 15 tables and the other 20-25. NEither place opened the tables...paid by the game as always. However, that area had 220 teams and 15 tables was enough to do the job. Where I am at now, there are at least 3 places that have 20+ tables
I'd run you over son....and you are right I'm nobody.
I don't have a vest full of patches and shelves of 5 inch trophies like yourself.
What makes you think I play in the APA. Sorry, ACS for me. Sure, the nobody, nobody ever heard of is sure he would run over someone he never met.
Well, I'll pay your airfare to Chicago. There is a LONG line of buddies that play in the APA that will match up with you? Me, I'm not much of a gambler, but I'll take dibs after they soften you up lol

Great book me a flight. 5k minimum. Anytime you are ready. You and you league buds cower when there's real players around. See it time after time.
Rule Number 1, don't say something in a pool hall if you aren't willing to bet.
PM me, I got plenty of people you can post with.
