Hi

Does anybody know if the 4 jaw scroll chuck that Todd sells will fit the spindle of a deluxe cuesmith?

Thx!

Did you replace the rear chuck as well? Was it worth the hassle?

I did not replace chucks, had front and back off for cleaning, wondered if the 4 jaw I already had would fit. Fit fine, same threads.

4 Jaw Chuck?

I have a Deluxe Cuesmith and have considered investing in a 4 Jaw Chuck. Can you share some info on the 4 Jaw Chucks you are referring too~?

Cheers

Todd at mid America pool has some on his site. Look for 060 LB

The 60 LB is a 4 jaw self centering chuck.
I would have thought that someone would be threading the 4 jaw independent chucks by now.

I've been searching for hours and I couldn't find any taig independent large bore chuck.

No such thing for Taig.
I've seen one late maker drilled the jaws and threaded them.

I have threaded the Taig 4 jaw independent chucks before.
I will have 3 chucks for sale with the thread in the back plate for sale early next year.
They are being shipped to me now for rework, and will offer them for sale.
Not sure of the price due to postage costs are unknown at this stage.

What is the advantage of the 4 jaw if it's self centering? The little extra grip of the fourth jaw? Seems like a waste of time trying to make the Taig something it will never be.

Neil is taking the 1030 4 jaw independent chuck and threading it to accept the 1-9/16" x 32 TPI spindle.

Easier to indicate the work, slightly more accurate.

I own a midsize cuesmith, if I buy the 4 jaw chuck can I then put my existing 3 jaw chuck on the back? Or do I need to get the actual rear chucks from the cueman? Thanks for your time.

Neil made me one a few years back, for most jobs I prefer to use it. Yes, I know, do not leave the tool in the chuck.

That headstock has double bearing in the front and a single in the back, I haven't weighed them to see the difference but I wouldn't think it would matter if you have a quality bearing.
