Different tips for different tables speeds

Would it be advisable to use a soft tip for a faster table and a medium tip for slower tables? I asked as I was playing on a fast table earlier using a soft tip (Kamui SS) and then moved to a slower table and all my CB preparation was short, so would moving to a medium tip help fix the preparation without changing my stroke ? Does this sound like a good idea, I already have the tip (Kamui S II) in stock and an extra shaft that I can use

No...but I do like to have a couple slightly different options to choose from.

Sometimes one feels better than the other, on a given day.

That said, I do have a lot of shafts and that keeps me happier than a dog with two dicks.

Reminds me of a time when I was a kid. I was walking down the street with a buddy of mine, when we passed a yard with a big german shepherd laying there going to town licking himself.

My buddy said, "Man, I wish I could do that." To which I replied, "You better not, he'll bite the shit outta you!"

To the OP, youre overthinking it. Just play on different speed cloths, and practice adjusting. Its a part of the game.

No........

Improvise, adapt, overcome, and you will be fine. You do not need many time, your stroke is adjustable.

I play with a friend who uses a soft-medium tip when playing 9-ball, and a medium-hard tip when playing 8-ball.

So, it might be game related more than table speed related.

Easier said than done, I played for 30 minutes on the slow table and even if I mentally knew to increase the power of my stroke, years of playing on a fast table kept me from playing correctly. The thing is, depending on the availability of the tables, I may play on the fast table at 3:00 PM and then at 5 pm play on the slow table, so it is much easier to change shaft than to change stroke.

I replaced the tip on an extra shaft and will test it out tomorrow.

What you mean to say is it’s too hard for you, and instead of putting in the work, you are looking for a magic pill.

We understand.

You play with a tip that you like for it's feel, feedback, and playability- you ADJUST your speed to ay given table by the speed of your stroke. Faster tables require more of a stroke than a poke- I would look at your ability to adjust the stroke rather than a magic bullet in tip hardness- tip hardness will never compensate for proper stroke adjustment. Just my experience.

I'd been using a fairly hard tip
and couldn't control the rock
especially on small, fast tables
I wasn't confident
and was afraid to really stroke through balls
I kind of overcame that, and have since adapted
but mostly, I learned that I didn't like that tip

I'm a big fan of doing the best with what you've got
sometimes equipment and conditions aren't ideal
be mentally and physically prepared for any situation
but if over the course of playing
and experimenting with the game
you find a way that works for you
why not let it
