My little pool room has opened back up. If you read my post last week about my first tournament back ...I won. I fought my way back through the B bracket and my opponent didn't offer to split and I beat him 3-0 to take it down.
This Monday, we both met in the finals AGAIN. Another guy beat me 2-1 and I fought my way back and met THAT guy again and when we met at the table, HE asked if I wanted to split the pot which I said sure.
Fast forward to tonight. I go to the bar for a Texas Hold 'em cash game $25 buy-in on the down low. 21 players buy in. Illegal.
I make to the 2nd round. I'm short stacked and go all in with Kings on the flop. Big stack calls as he is chasing the flush. I don't blame him. He catches the flush on the river and I am out..
20 minutes prior to this, some fellow hit one of those video poker machines in the corner for $ 325. The owner had left and the bar couldn't pay and told the guy to come back tomorrow morning and the guy is mad and telling everyone he would buy beer if he had the money bla bla bla.
I rode my bike home and grabbed $275 and rode back. The same guy was still complaining about not being able to be paid.
I told him..."hey bud, it sucks that the owner left. I'd be willing to buy your ticket but I don't have $325 dollars" He asked how much I had and I said I only had $250. He said no way and I said I didn't blame him.
5 minutes later he came back and asked how much money I REALLY had and I said "dude, I have $253 and 3 dollars are going in the juke box so I have $250 and he said okay.
Card game = $25
Beer cost = $28
Tip = $15
Purchased poker ticket = 250 of a $ 325 ticket
Netted $ 27.00 for the night. The guy basically bought me 2 buckets of beer
Really good night.
2 people in a masks the whole night.
