AMF playmaster

I have a 7ft AMF playmaster. It plays good and I enjoy the table but the felt is not the best. Just wondering what are all your guys opinions on the table compared to say a brunswick witch I believe AMF bought them out at one point of time but I could be wrong. And I'm buying new felt and bumpers and bumper facings they are on the way along with a table level kit that has beeswax and I have contact cement. I was going to try to refelt it myself as there is not a company that does this within 70 miles. Should I try to do this myself or should I bite the bullet and have a pro do it witch seeing I live like 70 miles from one will more then likely be expensive. I'm pretty handy when it comes to diy project. Like I refoamed and dust cap speakers just last week and came out great and only cost me $30 instead of the pro that wanted 300

I would pay someone local to do it. It is hard to get just right and you will never be happy with it if you really screw it up.

You may want to post your city on here. There are some really good mechanics on this website.

Another vote to pay a pro to do it right.

That said, there are plenty of horror stories here about tables that were done wrong by hired folks.

As said: share where you are and we will comment on who will actually provide appropriate service.

Do it once/ do it right. Correctly done, you might never need to do it again.

Doing a professional job on recovering the cushions is the one aspect that you just will not be able to do it correctly unless you have done it many times before. The installer might be willing to recover your cushions if you take them to him, for $100 or so, although many installers may refuse to do that without getting the entire job.

The leveling of the three slates perfectly as well as the cutouts on the cloth around the pocket drop offs can be hard to perfect as well and look professional, unless you’ve had experience doing it.

Bottom line - along with most of the others here who have responded, I agree that you’re far better off getting a pro to do it, even if the drive time for the installer may cost you an extra few hundred $.

Let's try it this way...........

Hey buddy what city do you live in? Some of us may know a good table mechanic in your area.

I'm hoping to find someone that will do it I but good materials The Sims 860-ft cloths a pro series k66 bumpers with the iszy faceings and a leveling kit. I got the felt for 170 off eBay new. It was an auction it seemed like to good of a deal to pass up. And rest of the stuff was like 150

Do you know k66 is the correct cushion type for your table?
(I don't)
