Asking for a friend. What is the best cheaper Sneaky Pete to buy

If you have a local cue maker, it should be cheap to have him put a pin in a house cue. It doesn’t get much sneakier or cheaper.

Second the call to support a local cue builder.

Shooter 1= Stelzenmuller, Titleist conversion-Z2

Shooter 2= Bob Frey, Bacote sneaky

How a shaft plays to you isn't what that comment was about, since anyone can say that about any shaft
it was the construction of the cue,
I've had both as well, I'll back players over everything I've tried

My Schmelke is constructed just as good as the Players.

This is the model of Players I have.

Here is my best Sneaky, but not quite sneaky. Murray Tucker built in 2000. One of the first five cues he ever made.

Thank you.

I assume you are talking about the Tucker.

Yes!! That is a good looking cue.

On the Players vs. Schmelke debate.....I have hit with a few players SP's and I thought the hit and Quality was nice, especially for the money!! I have yet to personally handle a Schmelke so I can't compare them. I have an older Purple Heart Meucci SP that has a standard no dots..no bs shaft on it that I love. The only mod to it is the ferrule was shortened up some a few years ago.

I think the Players Sneaky Pete shaft has a noticeably more deflection than any of my Schmelke shafts.

Yep, the same place everyone’s $500.00 cell phone and $600.00 television is made..

Nice assumption, but neither my phone nor my TV were made in China, they were both made in a non-communist country. We all have choices in life to make, I choose not to support a company in a communist country which just so happens to be the biggest adversary to my country. Other people try to pay the least amount of money they can without ever considering the ramifications of supporting countries other than our own. To each their own.

For what it is worth , The Players Sneaky came in and it is a really nice cue. Very Beautiful Cocobolo wood that is very nice and the shaft is equal in niceness as well. The Cue is one of the Nicest sneakys I have seen in the price of admission. I have seen $ 500 sneakys that was not this nice. The points are straight and even and the stick feels really nice. He has not hit any balls with yet but plans to in the next day or 2. Players quality seems be spot on as far as looks and detail. I also like that when you put it together you have to look for the joint line , very nice indeed

Awesome!

I have a friend who is starting out in playing and what’s to buy a decent cheaper sneaky Pete to play while he is learning. One that will play good but cost 2-300. I recommend Players and maybe Action but that was back in the day as I do not know to much about them now. What do you recommend. I have seen some on eBay cheap but don’t know if they are any good. Players used to make a real good cue for the price and I have been told that players and action cues come out the same factory. Thanks for any help. I know some of you know cues pretty good and would steer him right

Here are my pics for the highest quality cues in that price range.

Lucasi Zero Flexpoint Pool Cue | Curly Maple Sneaky Pete Lucasi Cue (seyberts.com)

Joss JOSSP01 Sneaky Pete Cue (pooldawg.com)

They are not true sneaky, but they are sneaky style.

Lucasi is far higher quality then either of those.
coworker had a merry widow lucasi, it was well built and played good

but the players sp i have, theres no better built cue ive ever held, my mind wont be changed
perhaps i got lucky and got their best cue ever made

someone even wanted to buy it off me once for the grain lines in the shaft,
and the zebrawood is super nice in this one, its been complimented plenty of times
