Which cuemakers offer quality custom order cues in the 500-1000 range and don't have a long wait list?

But the better bet is to start calling makers and ask what they have on hand in your price range and then don't be a waffler if you are offered something acceptable.

Do you think you are going to get to customize a cue for 3 figures?

That said, I don't see how you can make a cue selection without knowing if you like how it plays.

There used to be makers that would give you a quality cue in that price range. Michael Sima, Paul Dayton, and Carolina Custom for example.

Most makers MerryWidows start in the $6-800 range. 4pt. cues from $1200 on up.

Cheap, fast, quality.

Pick two.

Can't have all three, your right on that point.

Remember years ago in welding supply biz, company I work was world class problem solver.

We were not know to be cheap, we were competive. But if you had problem, we work with customer to fix problem.

Tech support was part of what you got buying from us. Never any extra cost, part of customer service.

I bought a merry widow cue new, directly from from Richard Black for $300 in 1993. It is still my daily player.
I had Richard Black make me a Merry Widow “Casino” cue in 1981 for around $220 to replace a four-point he made for me in 1978.

I sold the Casino in 1985, when I bought a McDermott C-14. The McDermott ran circles around the Casino.

I still have the McDermott.

Mike Sima is local to me. I spoke with Mike recently and was informed that he is done making cues; he’s 73 years old and doesn’t have the ambition he once did. He does have some stock that he’s selling out; 3/8 wood to wood and 5/16 steel joint.

Dang shame. My wife and I got serious about our game late and I would like to keep my money local. Garten Bierbower isn’t too far away, but I haven’t ever seen a wrapless cue made by him.
