This piece also claims mosconi's 526 was not clean, if one is to maintain strict adherence to rules.

"Proclaims," lol.

That Letter to the Editor states,"I've heard that..."

Non-attributed hearsay.

not much of a

I can tell ur in management, continuously repeating the same shit, expecting everyone else to begin repeating it to make believe that it is factual, when, in truth, it isn’t. I call BS, bs in any form that it takes. You, don’t know shit about pocket billiards nor the players who participate, so We, u and I, have nothing to talk about. C ya ill one.
We haven't had a single meaningful discussion about any of those things dime-head. By the way, among well adjusted successful people, being called a manager is not an insult...and you don't have the willpower to stop quoting and replying to me. Danny at least has the sense to ignore people he can't match wits with...you dive in with both stupid bare feet.

I don't believe that Facebook is a "news source", per se. All it does is repeat what others post, or link to other sources outside of its footprint. So I don't even consider whether its a trusted source of news. You have decide if you trust where that information came from, where it was linked or shared from, when considering trustworthiness.

In so far as personal pages go, you have to have a real reason to mistrust whether posts on that persons page aren't legit. I post things to mine occasionally. That is how many folks, perhaps most folks, use Facebook. Yes, there are people who seem to revel in sharing every imaginable conspiracy theory and junk posts, and share from very unreliable sources. But the average user, its "what did I have for lunch today", or "man, I'm frustrated at work" or any of a thousand personal thoughts and feelings. Regular people, regular Facebook pages, nothing nefarious there. And the only reason we could associate "news" in this instance is Nick pointing out that he went to that event, which, to the pool world, qualifies as "news" but to the world at large, that's simply a guy sharing what he did last weekend with his friends.

So tell me this...do you believe someone has hijacked Nick Varner's personal Facebook page? And to what end? There are virtually no postings there, just the occasional update on where he is going to appear, or commenting on a clinic he participated in. Why would someone go to the effort to hijack his page and not do anything with it? Simply to further this John Schmidt conspiracy? I don't think so.
Varner or Wilson have made great contributions to the Sport of Pocket Billiards, I guess you were just sharing some news - here about facebook - fair enough - I care nothing about facebook. I truly feel bad that Nick and Mark would go to their theater show but I guess that is what the powers at b need - to make the corny' fake news pop'. I have a question for you justudub, a young aspiring 14.1 player who wants to view this so called 626 at home asks the bca to see the 626 and offers to pay - but they have no unedited video, what do you tell the person who would like to see it at home? Mosconi's run has been surpassed but the 'unedited video' is being kept a secret? Again what do you tell the honest and eager student of the game - who just wants to watch the run at home? If you have a good answer the bca,c.w., and j.s. - should hire you as their lawyer. Also yopu keep downplaying - sayin their is just a few of us that do not believe the claim. However when I look back through this thread I count more than forty different azer's here that are plagued with doubt that there is indeed a problem as to why they would choose to hide the unedited tape from public for purchase. So ya yer 'just a few' is a weak attempt at downplaying the skepticism surrounding their shady 626. Go back and look through the thread yerself - you will see many think their 626 is possibly tainted.

Has this not been pointed out to you yet?

I would tell that aspiring young straight pool player to find the video at the same store where they sell the Mosconi run ;)

For the 626 run:

The table has an outline of the SARDO rack.

Balls marked and taken off the table were cleaned and put back. This happened twice.

There was no moving the replaced ball willy nilly.
Two gentleman came from Chicago to watch j.s. play TAR 14.1 match against me - I think u said u were from back east and that u too had come to watch John lol. How come ya'll had so much trouble with only my scorecard - both announcing and displaying to viewing audience? Ya I remember yer commentating on my TAR match in the 14.1 leg, no bias from yer end Fred Agnir ha ha bca 'cut up corner'.

Would it be a surprise to anyone that I have no idea what you’re getting at?

I flew to Kansas City area from Massachusetts to visit an old friend who lives in Osceola. I took a few days off to watch your and John’s All-Around. The boys of TAR surprised me by asking me to join in the booth. That’s pretty much the end of the story.

You had an historic run in the straight pool block, running three centuries. I don’t know of anyone else who has done that in competition.

I will expound 4 ya corner - Listen to the tape again, u gave yerself away - as to whom u were pulling for in the match, u said "two gentleman from chicago (j.s. backers) traveled to watch John play - I am from Massachusetts". In that particular statement u never mentioned my name, so I assumed that was yer tell - to the public as to whom u were pullin fer. I know j.s. does not want any controversy over his 626 claim - but he has it Fred, you will have to forgive me if I choose to see the unedited video before I give it my approval. I have a friend in Osceola as well (he taught me to play), he asked John if he could buy a tape of the 626 through the facebook computer - j.s. blocked him? I guess he was too honest for j.s. He gave j.s. another of the many thumbs down for trying to steal Mosconi's 526 - without VERIFIABLE EVIDENCE - to support the CLAIM, uh as fer my 14.1 yea I am honest - Thank u very little. Also I noticed u thoght it was funny when ken schoonman announced my score incorrectly and then changed it - I know he was trying to get me to think about the score - instead of the game or task at hand. Those coward tactics - don't work on me, also noticed y'all mentioned j.s. being a Mosconi Cup member - but failed to mention in yer commentary that I too was on the Mosconi Cup - our team Won -j.s. team lost - imagine that. That score is correct and I must say I do get a bit of a chuckle knowing this - jus sum more commentary 4 ya corner freddie agnir (bca puppet).

What is so hard about the video NOT being for sale? Nobody wants to buy the video except the knockers.

He will make more money selling seats to watch it. When a new movies comes out, why don't they sell the DVD to the customers when the movie is still in the theaters? If folks buy the DVD, they won't go the movies, if they don't go to the movies, the theaters stop renting the new movie releases. What is is about capitalism that you really don't understand?

This all sounds a little paranoid. John Schmidt is marketing his run the best way he can, and it appears to be a great success. I know six people in the last two days (plus me) who will happily pay for the opportunity to spend an evening with him going over the run with expert commentary. I can't wait.

Seeing how popular the Schmidt evening event's are, I think it would be foolish of him to sell his video now. When he can no longer attract a sellout crowd every second day, then maybe he should consider marketing the video directly, but i think his events will be popular for some time.

Mosconi's run was a great event without a doubt. But time moves on, and players are better now. If straight pool were more popular, the Mosconi run would have been broken before now. And i expect John's run will be broken, hopefully soon. But it has certainly raised the profile of straight pool. Last week i was surprised to see two people trying a straight run challenge.

In Snooker, a perfect 147 used to be a rare event. There were eight in the decade of the 1980s. There have been 88 in the last 10 years. Players now have better equipment and better training. Listen to some of the pool commentators who have been around for a while and who saw Lassiter, Mosconi, Greenleaf, and Butera play. I've heard them say players like Shaw, Chang, Ko, etc., are better than the players in the 1950s and 1960s.

It's something to be celebrated.

I don't know.

Doing some back-of-the-envelope estimations based upon what he is doing traveling around -- it's a hard way to scratch out any kind of profit after expenses.
