aiming with ferrule/tip the same color

my main player has a black ferrule- I like it, it stays looking clean
I'm wondering if the ferrule and tip being the same color could affect aim?
it was on a center ball hit that this question came to me
aiming anywhere else on the cb, I've never considered it
thinking about the idea, ferrule/tip contrast could help one see the tip better
it's hard for me to test accurately, as my cues possess different dimensions

anybody relate? thoughts?

Can't say it won't but that's contingent on the individual's aiming procedure. FI, if your primary alignment happens when you align the ferrule then I suppose you have the potential for optical distortion at the only point of precision.

When I went to CF I thought I wanted a white ferrule to be like the ferrules on my wooden shafts. Then I didn't like the "too strong" contrast between the bright white ferrule and the shaft so I wrapped the ferrule with black tape leaving a tiny strip of white to aim with. After awhile I pulled the tape off and the ferrule wasn't quite as bright, life was good! Seems we get used to whatever we shoot with for awhile. If I buy another CF shaft I will buy it with a black ferrule/vault plate or whatever they are in the mood to call it.

A couple of my cues with white ferrules I took some very thin black pin stripping tape, cut it even thinner and applied a line to the ferrule. Stays on without any problems and easy to remove. If you used white tape it would be quite a front sight.

Available at any auto parts store.

I have a g10 ferrule and it is definitely harder to discern the endpoint, vs my standard shafts.

seems like a little contrast could in fact go a long way..
thanks fokes
Luther Lassiter at least in the seventies when I saw him play used to take a lady's red nail polish and make his feral red. When asked about it he said it let him see the spot on the cue ball better whatever that meant
