Hello.

I have a Sam K-Steel pool table, it still have original cushion rubber. But table runs a bit slower. So after 15 years of use, I'm thinking to change the rubber. Rubber profile is K-55.

I'm choosing between Brunswick Super Speed cushions (price around 240 $) and Artemis Intercontinental No. 66 Rubber K55 Profile (price around 440$), buying in Europe.

What you think between these 2 rubbers, which option is better?
Is Artemis worth 200$ extra? On other hand, the tournament in our area are played on Brunswick GC4, so Brunswick cushion seems to be the logical choice, but I only play 1-2 tournaments in 1 month.

Thank you.

I've never understood why the Artemis K55 profile is nearly twice the $ of the Artemis K66 profile cushion - makes no sense at all. As long as the Superspeed K55 profile is the exact same profile as cushion profile K55 Kim Steel used on their tables, I think it should be a fine replacement. Hopefully some expert installers will see this thread and respond with more info for you, if they think the Superspeed replacement will pose any problem.

Are you sure it's not something in the setup? And is it the cloth speed or the cushion speed?

If K55 profile is the same , I would look over to Classic Billiards for the pricing of the Brunswick super speed cushions. Check the link below.
I recently purchased the K55's for my Centennial and shipping was free and set up so far is straight forward.
Didn't read enough did I , your making the purchase in Europe,,

Yes, contacting Ken at classic billiards is something I would do first, just to ask him if the Brunswick super speed K55s will be compatible on the original Kim steel K55 cushions, whatever they used. Ken is an expert on the correct cushion rubbers to use for every pool table ever made. 410-256-8388
