Mathroom mixing up women with the men.

I love how Matchroom is inviting women to their new, mostly men events. The Predator Champion League Pool going on now has Kristina Tkach, Kelly Fisher, and Jasmin Ouschan. They just announced some teams for the World Cup of Pool, and one of the teams will be Allison Fisher and Kelly Fisher. Mixing up the women and the men I feel brings more casual public interest to the sport. Even for die hard fans like us, I like watching the women to see if they can beat the men. Good on Mathcroom for trying to make the sport more enjoyable to watch. IMO.

notably, there is about 80 fargo points between siming and tkach. kelly is like 30 points behind. so quite a gap between the best and the rest

I liked Tkach's game the best. Her expression and demeanor at the table reminds me of a stone cold killer.

For some reason I never cared to watch the women playing against each other. But the women playing against the men is good TV.

Yeah I agree. There’s that little bit of extra drama that comes from the battle of the sexes. And this is a perfect format for it, because there’s a range of skill, and with so many races to 5 anything can happen in any particular match.

Albin avoided playing his sister tomorrow by winning his group playoff. Albin was in group #1, so he's had a lot of matches.

They said on the stream he had played 45, so over 50 by the time it’s all over. Typical double-elimination tournament you’d play maybe 10, and that’s to win it all?

Thought you said bathroom, was going to disagree. Some sports have no gender requirement pool is one.

I don't know of any pool event that is men only, only thing that stops the women from playing is themselves not entering the events. Maybe the invitational stuff.

I think it is a good thing. If the football (soccer) World Cup was run on who is the best it would be European teams plus Brazil and Argentina every time. Even the biggest sport in the world with the most money on the line recognises the need to diversify and the fact that an African team or the USA might one day be champs.

I really enjoy watching the women play with the men. And I can’t help but root for them to win. I like seeing it. Not only that, I believe the best of us rise to the level of our competition. This is great experience for them. It can only make them better. Your mistakes get punished and you realize what you need to work on.

Look at Tkach, I bet you she’ll be working on her break. And contrary to popular belief, it wasn’t due to strength or power. She just couldn’t keep her cueball under control and consistently hit the head ball where she needed to. She doesn’t need more strength to fix that.

Okay, maybe a smidge more power would have made the 1b not stop at the middle diamond of the top rail so often. But she doesn’t need to a bodybuilders arm for that.

Tkach is also a good commentator, I like her simple insights. She commentated one of Fedor's recent matches on Roy's Basement and seemed to have a fresh take on things.

I like it. I like watching Darren Appleton clear 100 balls from a pool table as much as the next guy, but if Jasmin Ouschan had a YouTube channel where all she did was make sandwiches I'd watch it all day.

Exactly. pool is like all sports. There are no tournaments where men play that women can’t but there are plenty of tournaments men cant play. In most sports I feel this is necessary but pool isn’t one of them. I find no reason women can’t compete against men on a pool table.
