Has anyone heard of Shuriken Cues?

The website looked identical to Willie Blade's before going down, the cue maker is also in the Ukraine, the wood "full splicing" technique is the same and even the designs of the cues are practically identical to Willie Blade. They are more reasonably priced and he offers some different joints included uni-lock and you can pay with Paypal. When I search for any reviews or information on people who have purchased this cue I come up with nothing. So is this a real cue maker, are they any good, anyone have experience with them?

Pretty sure its made by same people.
 
It is all confusing to me anyway. Willie Blade when he first started was making his cues for 300-500 dollars and then he got publicity from people in the US that were buying from him and recommended him. His sales must of went up because his prices sure did but now there is another brand, Shuriken, that looks just like his cues for cheaper. So if it's the same people then how can they sell the same design for less money? Is it any different or going to be a cheaper knockoff? I have always wanted to try one of Willie Blade's cues back when the prices were more reasonable for me especially as Maha said they are located in the Ukraine so throwing a ton of money is not my option lol. Maybe someone else will have had experience with this Shuriken Cues or could let me know. Thanks for the replies so far!

They have a FB page. Just ask them what the deal is.
 
Well I have emailed them and for two days no reply at all. I see that on AZ billiards and their facebook page there is constant posting of news but only some likes, no comments. It's almost like the product has never been in anybody's hands.

In 2017 they were the same outfit. May have had some kind of falling out. I know that his(WB's) brother also works with him, Eugene Ivantsov. https://www.facebook.com/EugeneIvantsov7
 
So it's actually somewhat "safe" to think that the wood work would be just as good as Willie Blade's? Interesting information. Now if I can just get the team from Shuriken to respond to my email.

Designs and technology of cuemaking are similar, but we are offering much wider splice designs options and more flexible geometry for customisations. I'm certain that WB can't build something like our Crown 360 model, just because they didn't have an opportunity to steal my scheme sketch for this model.

Thanks Shuriken, I figured the holidays were a time to take off for you guys, and I was going to post on this forum and explain to others who might wonder the same thing what you said to me. He emailed me back and was very helpful! Covered every question I had thoroughly, took the time with every answer and even sent me some videos of the cue I was interested in so I could see what it looked like. He explained that he was originally part of Willie Blade and now makes his own cues himself with a different team after leaving them.
 
I would love though for anyone here that reads this that has purchased a cue from shuriken cues if they could let me know what they thought and feel free to show any pictures of it.

Never had one. They look cool as hell. Sorry but i'm not sending $ to Ukraine for any reason. Probably safe/secure but i don't want to test that theory.

I just got mine today. Before I continue, I just want to say that everyone is different and we all have preferrences.

I was just going to test hit with it for a few shots. I lost track of time and shot count and when I snapped to it, I've been playing for 2.5 hrs lol. Definitely my new "player"! I don't have a huge collection. I have a schon r12, an 80's JossWest, a Joss handmade (probably early 2000's). I don't know how else to describe the "hit" other than it has more "guts" than my JossWest and Joss. For each of my cues, I use 90% of the time, a 12mm solid maple shaft and the odd time, a mezz wx700.
Balance point:
Schon R12: 19 in.
JossWest: 19.5 in
Joss: 19 3/4 in.
Shuriken: 19 3/4 in.
I hope this helps.

P.S. I tried to include a video but I'm having trouble with that.

Leonheart also has a snooker shaft made with his cue...I’m very interested how it hits.
...I think the wood-to-wood joint is partially responsible for the gutsier hit.

Doubt its the joint. Overall taper, shaft taper, ferrule-n-tip have WAAY more to do with hit than the joint. That is one beautiful spliced cue.

Allen McCarty and I go back a long way...when he started to develop the BK, we spent a long time on the phone.
He assumed a steel joint was going to be the best for a break cue...Iron Willie showed that wood to wood gave
7 to 12 % more speed to the cue ball coming off the tip. We never did figure out why.

So I told him that explains why I never kept a snooker cue that had a metal joint...on a 6x12, power is needed.
My five best pool cues are stainless steel, I’m used to them....but if I was a younger player, I’d look for wood to wood for my pool cues also.
I was thinking G10 pin also, but Ariel Carmeli told me the sheer strength wasn’t as good as a titanium mixture.
I also think a composite shaft insert would be good, somewhat like the old Huebler cues.
 
Since I started posting about cue joints, in particular flat ivory big pin versions, I have always expressed
the opinion that the best hitting cue I ever tried used a wood to wood joint. I think that’s the purest form
of cue joint closest to the overall feel of a one piece cue. Thereafter, flat faced ivory big pin would be next.
I went with the latter for my cues because of durability, appearance and many cue maker recommendations.
