So ESPN can't find time for pool?

Lol, no. I don’t use the internet.

Except for AZB and checking my email once a day at the most I’m not online.

I’ve never used FB once, no Twitter, none of that garbage.

I don’t watch netflix, prime or any of the others which I don’t even know their names.

maybe I’m missing the whole picture here. Would seem to me if there was more interest in pool there would be more pool out in the wild, you know like new pool rooms opening, and people talking about pool. Most people under 25 don’t know what pool is.

seems to me there are other more viable things to sell than a relic of the past.

none of the rich people I know have a clue about pool. They all have a box in their mansions-95% maybe 1/20 doesn’t have a box. And of the 19 who do have a box 18 have never hit a ball. I mention pool to them and they just know it’s a table in a room of their mansion. This isn’t a small sample of data-I know plenty of $ people, some only casually but I talk to them and it ain’t looking good for pool. Poker (which I don’t play) on the other hand seems to be waking up again.
If pool is dying, why are there so many table manufacturers outside of the US selling tables everywhere around the world, and in the US as well? Thats what people fail to understand, America is not the dipstick with which to measure the growth of pool worldwide, which has become even more clear when the only American Professional pool player that can compete on the world stage is SVB, what a shame more American Pro's can't step up to the plate, and compete like Shane does!

You'd be surprised at the percentage of pool tables Diamond sells out of country vs US sales!! Pool is growing everywhere else around the world except the US, why do you think that is?
I travel all over the world and never seen a pool room. By the train stations in Europe they all disappeared in the past 15 years. In Tokyo I did fall across one very nice room. Went to a few small rooms between Osaka and Tokyo.

Glen we both know their production numbers, it’s great for them. But that number of tables spread across the globe isn’t a dent in pool. They need to be making 50X more tables and have 25 competitors making as many tables to reach a meaningful number.

It’s fun to dream about but the numbers just ain’t there. The interest of people and how they budget their time isn’t there. It’s over, it’s been over. Hells bells boxing is over with UFC came along and that was that. Football in Europe is doing ok as is F1 but very few spectator sports or participant sports are making any $. It’s just not realistic.

You're not going to the right places then, Moscow has over 200 Diamond tables, 7, 9, and 10fts. Croatia has at least one pool room with 18 9ft Diamond tables in it, I know, I sold them their tables. Just like a person who's never seen a million in cash, that don't mean a million in cash don't exist, because YOU have seen it, and know it DOES exist.

Boxing is not quite dead yet . Boxers still make a lot more money than MMA'rs.
And yuppie boxing gyms are popping up everywhere . I've seen Gracie schools closing .
Boxing only channel exists in Europe, BoxNation . I have it on my box.
Dana White even tried to sign Mikey Garcia of Riverside.

Pool has slowed down in Asia outside of China, of course .
Specially in Taiwan where even Fong C Pao closed one of his rooms.
Manila is having a pool comeback. New smaller rooms are popping up again. Same thing is happening south of the islands.
I know this because a good friend of mine is a matchmaker. Saw Pulpol and Aranas match up there in 2018.

I agree I do need to visit Moscow.

You are aware that greater Moscow has a population of 20,000,000 people. I just looked it up to save you the time. That’s one table per 100,000 people. That math speaks for itself.

Glen you been my friend for 100 years and I know your trying and I hope you can pull it off. But man this is a steep hill.

Steep hill isn't so steep when you're working with the right business people😅

Breaking News for Paris 2024 Olympics.

Are you jealous or suprised? If pool was to be picked to be in the Olympics, WHO would be picking the players, what would the qualifications be, how many players from each country, what RULES would be used, WHICH game would be played, men's, women's, mixed doubles, teams????

What tables, cloth, balls, spots, chalk, rack?

WHO DECIDES????

IF YOU can't answer those questions, then WHY keep pointing out OTHER SPORTS getting into the Olympics? Organization, Organization, Organization, Organization....must I keep repeating myself so you FINALLY get it? ORGANIZATION!!!!!

None of above, just reporting how Olympic in Paris will be different. Of you have gripe cry to USA Today for reporting News.

So you're a reporter now? Who do you work for? Even Stevie Wonder can see what you're really pointing out, as you have done many times in the past!

I did not point out anything, I shared a story from USA Today of what's new in Paris 2024, and what out in Paris 2024.

You over thinking, or maybe you suffer from PTSD?

Or maybe you're just full of good old BS! This is a pool forum, why on earth would anyone here give 2 sh#ts about break dancing in the 2024 Olympics in Paris??? Should they start reserving their seats now, seeing how you feel its IMPORTANT to report it now!!?

You seem very angry?

Breakdancing in my eyes is not a comparative sport, but is not my decision to add, or subtract events from Olympics. That is decision of IOC. Maybe someone with big bucks in Breakdancing community paid off the IOC to add Breakdancing.🤣

In 2024 we should have idea if Breakdancing is anything. Two good indicators will be number of Countries sending Breakdancing teams to compete, and number of seats sold to watch the Breakdancing competition in Paris.

And the purpose of that is what??

What does anyone that plays pool care about if break dancing is in the 2024 Olympics? Am I missing something here?

I think its clear to everyone you don't work for the Olympics, and of course everyone knows you don't have any decision making responsibilities for the Olympics, so, why the need to point out that you have nothing to do with the Olympics, but then throw in "but we'll see" into your conversation, why? Again, who cares? This is a pool forum, not the Olympics committee!!

Read what you said in post 155? People who play pool also watch Olympics on TV. Winter & Summer Olympics.

Maybe the Pool player you hand with are shallow, single focused people.

Live, eat, sleep Pool 24 x 7 x 366, BTW leap year is 366 days.🤓
