US Open 9-ball updates thread..

It will only work on a very temporary basis. Pool is dying because young people are not interested in it anymore. Not because some Pro isn't making as much money as he would like.

This idea is trying to pinpoint problems with a rifle bullet, when the problem needs a scattergun!
Youth today are not stupid, why would they want to waste their lives pursuing a skill that WON'T provide them with a future!!!

The idea is that more interest would be generated if teenagers saw some 25yo pool player getting out of his (Insert fancy car) with pornhubs finest, followed by his cue case carrying entourage to play in the US Open. Getting interviewed after with his gold chains swaying and all.

It’s all a dream but would be fun to see

Don't forget showing him snorting that line of coke with his pornhub bitches before getting out of the car!!

Then why do they pursue football, basketball, baseball, wrestling, playing in a band...... need I go on?

How many kids play those games really think they're going to be doing it when an adult, let alone actually make money at it? You're kind of foolish if you think that's true.

How many kids that play HS football actually go on to be a professional? 1/32 of a percent? Probably less.

The great game of Billiards has to be sold to these kids as something you could do your entire lifetime... No matter what your physical condition happens to be at the time you begin, or when you get old.

Does any professional sports draft players straight of HS, or drop outs??

😂 quoting the guy 3 times in a row and getting more agitated each reply 😂🤣🤣

I think you should end each reply with…Bitch!

20 people in the world might…repeat…might…make money playing tournaments.

There’s hundreds of guys making a “living” gambling at pool…hundreds of guys.

Spend a little bit for odds on your money and get a tin cup or a funky wooden plaque.

Or bet real cash and really make something.

Good Lord we got another one! Another one that thinks gambling is going to save pool from all evil!

Gambling and hustling is what gave pool was bad image to begin with. And no one can argue with that point, at least not without even the slightest little bit common sense.

While you're at it, tell us how many of those big-time gamblers are making a living playing pool? And how many of them are being staked by someone else and they're only playing for a percentage?

Glenn, I know you're not that stupid. We're talking about getting kids interested in pool. You just pulled that one out of your ass just to try to win a discussion.

But I'll play along with you. Pro football drafts players out of colleges . How many kids are playing college football that never played a high school game in their life? Good luck with answering that one. But I smell an answer coming.

Don't you see it? You have to get these kids trained, and I mean properly trained, to play pool before they get out of school and go to college, or start a career. At that point they no longer have time to give the time and effort that is needed to become a high-level player. And, the younger they are started the quicker they develop... As compared to somebody starting to play pool at age 30.

Who says pool has bad image?

People have been gambling on pool a lot longer than there’s been tournaments.

I know way more top people in pool than you do and the ones that can afford to pick up a stinking check in a restaurant gamble.

The tournament only players ain’t never going to buy you a hot dog at Costco.

Pool and gambling is a fact of life.

Until there’s a big tournament every week where the top 32 make any kind of decent money there won’t be a lot players making a living with just tournaments. Sure, some here and there but very few.

Fairy tales and pipe dreams.

That's how long its had a bad image. Since before tournaments. Maybe not in your mind, but that's the way it is with the general public.

You know way more top players then I do? Well whoopy-d-shit. If you know that many, then you can answer the question you conveniently tried to skip... how many of them gambling on pool make a living doing it?

I may not think Glen is seeing the entire picture but time will tell, and I respect he is trying to do something.

Glen is all talk. He ain’t doing nothing about nothing.

Me knowing more players than you means knowledge about them. Experience.

Quite a few “champions” owe me money. That’s pretty common, “champions” owe pool room owners, stake horses and the gamblers money all over the country. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I did answer the question. There are way more people making a living gambling on pool than there are playing in tournaments.

An exact number? I don’t know but I know a lot of people aren’t making a living playing in tournaments.

Glen is all talk? Your lips are sure making a breeze. There is NO ONE making a LIVING gambling at pool. And you cant prove me wrong. Especially after you say many of them OWE people money.

I agree, let's promote pool in High Schools so we can get the next generation of broke dick players ready to take the place of TODAY'S broke dick players! Sounds like a good plan to me!!!

Glen....open your mind.... I'm NOT saying you shouldn't try to restructure pro pool. I think its necessary to do it.

Now.... plant that short paragraph in your mind and keep it there while you read on...

What i am saying is you have to fix both ends of the problem at the same time. You now as well as I do you have to keep new blood coming into the game. High payouts to current players is only a temporary fix. It will not convince young people to get into playing pool. You have to get them interested before they start college or start careers. There will be no time for it in later years. Your plan has a 10 year lifespan at best.

Yeah yeah.... I know pool is a world wide game...yadda yadda I only care about US pool, because the problem is worse here.

I seen a video of a 12 year old that could kick the asses of 75% of the posters on AZ.... myself included. THATS what we need for the future.... beyond that 10 years into the future.

My plan gets youngsters interested. Your plan gives them something to look forward to. Why cant both be blended together to create a firm future for professional pool?

And how do you see your plans for the youth working out? With nothing to look forward to other than the way pool is structured today, unless pool changes at the top, I see no hope for the future youth players, other than the life of gambling.

Do you honestly believe General Mills would be interested in sponsoring a Junior Nationals event to support the future degenerative youth of gamblers in pool, OVER a College Scholarship program? YOU are wanting the youth to skip their education future, and go straight into pool as a profession??

Come up with something better than using my Unicorn reference.

Like…get on the back side of these nuts bitch. 👍🏻

You just don’t know many pool players is all. When the older guys start dropping dead there won’t be as many making a living gambling. The younger ones aren’t too bright.

You're a prime example, so don't laugh to loud!!

Are you the guy that said he was done dealing with me?

Is that you?

I’ve put on more tournaments and added more money to them than you so far. I know a little more than you about it.

I wasn’t involved in pipe dreams, they were real events.

Want to bet on that?
