1 Shot Every 10 Players Should Know

Hey guys!

A few people have asked me to to do a series of instructional videos on some shots every player should know but some players don’t know when they should know them. I made a test video and thought I’d post here for feedback. My goal is to cover some of the more basic shots that every player should know when playing shots they don’t know in a simple easy to follow format.

I hope you can learn something and let me know what you think I should know about making videos about a number of shots pool player should know! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

After some feedback, I think there’s probably better ways to play that shot:

Or you could roll the ball slow and go one rail and end up in the same spot.

But it was a good opportunity to show off your stroke and let us know you play better than we do. As for me I wouldn't shoot that shot that way in a million years, not even in my best day. I can see a natural three rails to get even better position with less chance for error, but what do I know?

Okay, now I watched the second video. You got me, but I have to ask why? I'm sure you could think of something much funnier than this, like maybe shooting a jump shot when you had a straight in and claiming it was the best way to make this shot.

Do you live alone on that little island? Like Tom Hanks in castaway?
Basically, but I have a dog instead of a volleyball, and his name is Jack, not Wilson 😂

No, it’s not so small. Well, it is small, about 50km across. It has a standing population of about 500,000, but the tourist population brings it up to about 600-700k. I think in the ten years I’ve been here the population has almost doubled.

Oh, you mean have I gone island crazy? Hahaha, a little. But my back is also really bad at the moment, so I can’t play much. I think boredom got to me.

It's funny don't get me wrong. You pranked us. Haha, Good one, etc yada yada. But it's painful to watch you knowing now what's coming. The first video I was really sitting on the edge of my chair. Now going into it, I've made my mind up what's coming.

Sorry :(

I know it was quite dry, but I really thought there were enough clues for people to realise it wasn’t serious: Thor Lowry, Shakira Pool, Karl Moist? APA 15 rated players, Fungo 900 players, the whole 2 minutes talking about 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, shots every player should know in South America?

I started to feel bad when people were responding seriously 😒

I honestly wasn’t trolling, just providing a bit of levity by the telling the story of someone having his pool YouTube dreams shattered.

Haha, don't feel bad. Exactly the kind of humour i enjoy. the sort of thing i might say or do to my halls owner as a joke.

i caught your inaccurate info (apa15 etc) you seemed so earnest in wanting to help others, i figured you were just camera shy.

You got me good. If you can't laugh at yourself, than you have no right to laugh at all i say.

Cheers.

I guess my mistake was fast fowarding the video after the first 15 seconds of speech until I saw him stroking the cue. I suppose you could say I didnt see the whole story, now Im thinking I should go back and re-watch it.

Genius.
The deadpan delivery is comedy gold. I knew within 2 minutes that you weren't really serious but couldn't look away.
BTW as an APA 15 I know I could pot that 9 too if I really wanted to, I took a lesson from Thor.

You should, pretty funny actually

Well done, @Shuddy. All the way around, from conceptualizing, to “acting”, to shooting. I got it right away. Please feel free to do more of these (but maybe barefoot or in stockinged feet, lol!)
I play bare foot on the square. I can’t stand shoes when I play
